Thoughts on Inde's D23 Outfit?

Fashion student here. Saw some people talking about Inde's look here. What did you guys think? I personally liked it and thought it was a really nice outfit for the event.

Is this even the same dress?

It looks similar but so different at the same time. The fabric looks different in tone and texture. The original has more of a shine to it like liquid organza. Heidi's version has no shine and is way less sheer. The placement of the pleats look different too. Am I crazy? Is this not the same dress?

R'Bonney had so much more to show...

I'm sorry, but I'm still not over this elimination. I followed her for a while and you can tell she's very talented. Her portfolio speaks for itself and she has a very refined taste overall. She seems extremely humble and level headed too.

I think this show is a platform to push yourself and your design aesthetic, and I think R'Bonney's journey would've been amazing to see, even if she was kept for one more episode. There were less impressive designers who are still there...

I still grieve the tonal shift of S2 after rewatching S1

When Season 1 first came out, I'll admit that I was a bit of a harsh critic. I loved a lot about it, but I think I wanted more. My biggest complaint was that I wanted more of Joel and Ellie's travels. Still, the worldbuilding blew me away. It captured everything about the first game tonally and elevated it on a new level with the cold openings. It felt confident, precise and very cinematic.

Remember when we were first introduced to Tess as she was being beat up? When Joel cut the ration lines just to see if Tommy ever sent a signal? When Anna gave birth to Ellie How about the radio distress signal from Bill? Everything felt bigger and more grounded.

Season 2 took a complete tonal nosedive. It completely failed to capture the even heavier, more nuanced tone of the second game. Yes, we had the amazing scenes of Isaac killing his squad and the Seraphites being ambushed by the WLF. Out of nowhere, we also get "I'm gonna be a dad!"

I don't think it was the season was the worst thing in the world. But it was a terrible adaptation of the second game due to Ellie's mischaracterization and the overall tonal departure. The humor cheapened the tone catastrophically, and I'm not even joking. Ellie would never do that. Abby would never call Joel handsome.

What are some niche behavioral things that having body dysmorphia do to you?

For example, I'm constantly touching and fixing my hair. I use my phone as a mirror but I'll never turn on the camera app. A black screen is good enough for me to check it constantly.

I also tend to suck in my cheeks when I'm out. I never lost my baby fat and have a gut condition that makes me bloat severely. If I'm in public or a crowded area, my face does it almost instinctually.

Watching the extended Backrooms film tonight! What should I keep an eye out for?

I've seen this film two times already but tonight will be my first time seeing the EMG extended cut! I avoided spoilers for a while since I was waiting for it to upload on YT. But it's my birthday and my boyfriend surprised me with tickets :D

What might be some details I should keep an eye out for? For example, I'll pay close attention to the clouds and the hot air balloon that I missed during my two rewatches. Any other details?

New 'The Devil's Mouth' trailer looks very similar to Until Dawn 2...

I know the whole "group of young adults go to remote island" isn't necessarily new. But damn, this trailer gave me very heavy UD2 vibes, and I feel like this is what it would look like as a movie.

I love Renate's character Mary so much

So I really enjoyed Mary's character in the film, and I find her casting and writing to be very interesting. We get glimpses of her lonely life, eating alone on the couch, waking up in bed alone after a nightmare, heading to her office to take a xanax.

I think that's the interesting thing about her in this film. I think what stands out to me is that Mary is a very ordinary woman; she could be any woman walking down the street. Even her styling, she doesn't wear much makeup or styles her hair. She is just a simple woman, and I think that's very refreshing in a horror film. Her hair is greasy when she's running away, not in perfect curls with body and volume. You can tell she has a good heart and wants to help others. It all makes you want to root for her in the end.

Mary is written with a lot of trauma regarding her mom in the past, but she never dives into monologues traumadumping or complaining about her past. Her separate scenes are all alone, and you get the sense that she's a very lonely woman. There must be so many people out there like her who go about their days but struggle with that type of loneliness. I love the scene where she enters the nullzone. The music is just perfect, and you can really feel her hesitation. This final girl queen!

How would you rate/describe your Locket concert experience?

Hi everyone. My wonderful boyfriend bought us tickets a few months ago for the Locket tour, and we're going in a few weeks. He doesn't listen to her music, and mainly got us tickets since he knows I'm a big fan.

How would you rate your experience at the concert in terms of performance, outfits, set and overall vibes? Is it still enjoyable for someone who doesn't listen to her music?

Does anyone know where I can get this hat😭

Odessa wore this for press day and I love it soooo much. I have a feeling it's probably a crew hat and not official merch since not much came out for this movie.

Does anyone know where I can get it? Does anyone here own it? That'd be such a gag

My thoughts on Mary's character (SPOILERS)

I saw the movie on the night it premiered, and it's still with me. The more I sit with it, the more drawn I feel to our two main characters. In particular, I really enjoyed Mary's character and feel an extreme sense of sympathy for her. All that trauma with her mom, the flashbacks we saw. How much she held onto that handprint. How much she wanted to help Clark and tried her best. Even her looking at Pirate Clark, you could see the empathy in her eyes.

In their sessions, I felt that she genuinely cared and knew the roleplay would help him. I thought that was such a poignant beat for him to reject it then forced her into it again in the backrooms. The one place that literally "roleplays" and replicates reality itself.

She had the courage to call him out on his flaws, even if it meant risking her own life. "You are your brain" is such a strong line.

I understood the still life forms to exist because their counterparts are deeply lonely, depressed and isolated in their own lives. In the end, we see her still life just sitting down there, traumatized and alone.

Just that one shot of her and the mom making the handprints as the debris drops over them feels deeply melancholic and depressing to me. Idk why, but I ended up really caring about her character. She had heart. Renate did an amazing job.

I miss the Queen Ruveal Runways

For those confused, the US seasons used to feature a separate montage of the girls in looks for a generic theme. These montages used to air alongside the 'Meet the Queens' promo videos we still get today, but we'd get to see the queens in two looks instead of just their promo looks. I believe they first did this for Season 12 in that warehouse set.

Season 16 was the first season that stopped this format since their MTQ video began with snippets of their werkroom entrance instead. Now, they have the girls (S17, S18) walk a runway in their promo looks instead. I miss this runway because I think it was a good way for us to be introduced to the queens outside their promo. It also gave the queens a chance to wear pretty much anything they wanted (signature drag). The budget is clearly higher nowadays so I wonder why they stopped doing this.
