[UPMin] BA Creative Writing Curriculum and Enlistment Question

Hi! I can't see any curriculum or like a flow chart for BA English (Creative Writing) in UPMin. Do we have some sort of flowchart here? I've seen a scribd pdf na 15 per units daw but is it accurate?

Also, do we have to enlist ourselves during the first sem or auto enlisted na with a block? I really have no idea how UPMin works kasi and if it's different from other UP campus.

And to be honest this isn't my prio program and I was looking forward to UPD's Psychology prog but hindi pinalad. But since this is my only choice, I'll grab it and see how it will work out for now. I do like writing but it was just a hobby, not something I thought I'd want to do for college. But in case that I might want to shift/transfer for Psychology, kasali ba sa courses ng first year ang Psych 101 and Math?

Thank you po if masagutan!

How hard to transition from Biology/Creative Writing to Psych

Hi! Incoming college student here and was a gap year student. Finally coming to school but I just have to be realistic in case I don't get the scholarships I applied for. I passed BS Biology/BA English in a state university so there's no tuition to think of. Meanwhile, there's no results yet for the scholarships I applied for Psych. Trying to be realistic here and not wanting to delay my college longer, I am wondering how hard it is to transition from Biology/Creative Writing to Psych. My passion really is Psych so I just have few questions, especially to those who experience the same thing:

  1. If I take MA in Psych after undergrad, do you think it would be better to take another undergrad degree in Psych instead of immediately taking Master's Degree since I'd have to complete bridging courses anyway?
  2. Generally, would it impact my experience/knowledge during master's if I'm a Bio/Creative Writing undergrad even let's say I go for completing the bridging courses? I just don't have an idea how effective taking bridging courses is.
  3. If I ever take undergrad degree in Psych after Biology/Creative Writing, how long does it take to finish Psych?
  4. For those who experience the same thing, how was the whole journey for you? How long did it take for you to finally get your goal? And how did your another undergrad degree impacted your studies in psych?

I would really appreciate your response. I just don't want to give up my passion for Psych, especially it's one thing that I'm so sure of. Thank you!!

Just turned 20 AMA

So yeah whoopy! I turned 20, idk how to feel about it. It also seems like 20 is a big thing for a lot of people and a lot of people I know often reminisce their 18-20s. Personally, my birthday is nothing too grand, just a normal day so I'm here, ask my anything!

Need help with SLAS UPMin

Hello! I recently got an offer from DIWA Appeals in UPMin. If I'm being honest, I gave up UP when I didn't pass after UPCAT. But yay! May chance pa pala.

But I just learned about Student Learning Assistance System (SLAS) when I saw it sa portal ng DIWA. I'm quite confused and extremely overstimulated (I thought magg-gap year na naman ako haha). Please help me out:

  1. As per my understanding, SLAS will open after the sem have started, tama? Wala pa kasi akong nakikitang 2026 calendar and I don't have UP mail pa but I saw na August 2025 nag start yung SLAS last year.
  2. How hard is it to be granted the full tuition and stipend? My situation: gap year student (for two years alr), mom is senior citizen, father is unemployed. Do I also have to inform them about my siblings' salary although they don't help me financially?
  3. Is it the same amount of stipend if ever granted ba? (8k)
  4. Are there any internal scholarship pa ba na I should look out for esp for the first sem?
  5. My offered prog is not my prio prog, I still like it naman but I'm just worried about possible shifting. Is the SLAS strict with shifting programs/campus?

I hope I can find clarity here. I really want to get my college degree na hahaha kapagod na kasi mag call center agent lol. I hope makahanap ako ng sagot here. Thank you!!

Can I accept UP DIWA slot even if unsure if I'll enroll

Hello! I know this is such a risk and some have already got mad at me ab this haha. So, UP DIWA result is out and I got an offer, but it's not my prio program. Before anyone gets mad, please note of the following:

  1. My prio prog is not offered in this UP campus and I have no option to appeal in UPD/UPM (2.6 UPG)
  2. I don't entirely hate the prog that I got offered with but it's just not my prio prog talaga
  3. I desperately want to finish college and I have already taken a gap year, I really want to finish college already

The reason why I'm hesitant to pursue UP is because I am waiting for another school's internal scholarship offer. There's no news pa and this naman is my prio program. But at the same time, I'm worried that I may not be able to go to college ulit if I don't pass this school and not take UP.

Do you think I can accept the slot but not proceed with the enrollment if I ever get accepted sa prio prog ko in another school? If ever, are there necessary steps ba na need kong gawin IF I won't continue UP?
