The end is in sight!
First photo is from January 2025, second photo is August 2025 (day before getting the chain fitted), third photo is from January 2026, final photo is from this month. I've been provisionally booked in to have the braces taken off mid-August.
My primary issue was gaps between my teeth. My treatment was slow to get off the ground as I had a baby tooth that needed extraction, and then they needed to gradually increase the space for the adult tooth to be pulled down into. The tooth was extracted about a week prior to getting my braces fitted and the gold chain was fitted at the end of August 2025.
There's still a slight gap where the space was created to pull the adult tooth into but as this is going towards the back of my mouth, I'm not so bothered about it (and given my teeth are quite small, they were probably quite limited in how much they could move it without creating a gap at the front). I had an appointment at the end of April where I was given elastics to wear to help move the tooth back but my appointment this week, I was told I didnt need to wear these anymore as the tooth only needs to move about 1mm. The majority of my treatment has been power chains.
I was originally told treatment would be 18-24 months and I thought I would be hedging towards the 24 months given the issues mentioned above and it taking a while to be able to get booked in to get the gold chain fitted. Treatment all in including braces, extraction of baby tooth and exposure for the fitting of the gold chain was just over £4k.
Super, super happy with the results - my only regret was waiting so long to get braces
