Confused about some of the rules here

So I just joined. And read the rules. There is this rule against a 'personal ad'. But say you're a lesbian in Europe and want to meet other lesbians? I assume you make a post saying who you are and that you want to talk to some people. How do you even make a post about it without breaking this rule and saying who you are? Loneliness among lesbians is high, and a lot of people live in places where they have no support... I really don't understand why this rule is even here.

Writing fanfic as a non-English speaker, how do you do it?

I've been exposed to English all my life, though my native language is not English. I read books and fanfic in English. When I write, I write mostly in my native language. But in the case of fanfiction, you kind of need to write in English. My native language is quite niche, so I don't think I will get many views if I write in it (or none at all, lol). For those who write fanfic when English is not your first language, how do you do it? Do you use beta readers? Or do you just post it as it is, noting in the preface that your native language is not English? Do you use tools such as Grammarly to remove most errors from your text?

Anyone also lost interest when a Kickstarter expansion arrives after a delay of 2 years?

I recently received the Kickstarter Expansion to Crystallo, together with the playmat and the mini version of the base game. There have been a lot of troubles in this campaign, and as a result, it was delayed for a long time. I know we're lucky that they were able to fulfill it at all. It was supposed to be delivered in Jan 2024, and I received it a few weeks ago. The thing is, I don't game as often anymore as I used to, and while I'm still interested in the base game, I'm not excited about trying the expansions. It will probably take some time till I do. Has anyone else had/has experienced this?

Fan groups/ sites ?

Hi! As a kid, I was very much into Playmobil (I'm an 80s girl ^^) and owned some stuff. I loved playing with it, making up stories. Yet when I grew up, I stopped touching it and ended up donating it all to a charity for children's toys. Now, years later (I just turned 40), I have rediscovered it as an artistic expression. I bought some Playmobil again, some new ( I just love the Greek God series!!) and a lot of it second-hand. I want to be able to make toy photography. I want to create a narrative. I already draw and write, so this seemed to be a new challenge.

My question is: are there any active fan groups/ websites for Playmobil fans? Or places for people who are doing creative things with Playmobil? I did a quick search, but most fan sites and forums seem abandoned, with the last posts dating back years. This is really sad... Is there any current fan group/ place to hang out, and if there isn't, can we create one? It would be so fun to connect. Btw, I'm from Western Europe, just so you know ^^

The Freewrite Alpha Cosmic

Some time ago, I caved in and bought the Alpha Cosmic edition, despite every inch of my body screaming, "this is overpriced in the extreme." I already owned a Traveler, which I use to write journal entries and draft articles. I love its portability. I love the weight. Yet... When I saw the Alpha Cosmic, it made me think of Star Trek, of nostalgia, of earlier times. I'm very influenced by melancholia, by vintage design, and design/times in general. It makes me feel things I otherwise wouldn't. It shouldn't be so, but typing on the Alpha Cosmic Edition, I feel some kind of (nostalgic) emotional connection with it, which really helps me get into the mood and inspires me to write. I know it's not so for everybody, and I really wish it wasn't so for me - that I could just create wherever, under whatever circumstance. But I can't. I'm very sensitive to how things feel. And the Alpha Cosmic, for me, is the perfect machine to write short fiction on (I mostly write flash fiction). How do you guys see this? Do you experience something similar, or is it completely different? I'd like to hear your thoughts ^^
