The Doors of Helsingborg, Sweden

I definitely had to look harder to find doors to photograph in Helsingborg, Sweden than I did in Helsingør, Denmark even though the two are separated by just a short ferry ride. However, the doors are definitely there if you put in the work!

The Art Nouveau Insurance Office in Lisbon

I love everything about this door except the unavoidable sign inside that always creeps into my photos.

The Doors of Helsingør

Helsingør is a relatively small city in Denmark (less than 70,000 people). Best known for the castle that inspired Hamlet, Helsingør is also home to an incredible density of beautiful doors. Sharing a collection of photos I took on my trip.

Pretty doors were a bit hard to find here, but I like these three.

Welcome to r/DoorsGloriousDoors — Read Before You Post!

Welcome, door lovers! Whether you found us through Reddit's architecture communities or stumbled in mid-scroll, you're in the right place.

What this community is

r/DoorsGloriousDoors is a home for original door photography — beautiful, quirky, historic, colorful, crumbling, grand. If it's a door and you photographed it, we want to see it. This community is curated by Doors, Glorious Doors by Sidewalk Safari, a door photography project that's been running since 2024.

The rules (short version)

  • Original content only. Your photo, your copyright. No stock images, no reposts from other accounts.
  • The door must be the subject. People can appear incidentally, but don't make a person the focus — especially without their permission.
  • Pace yourself. Max 3 individual posts at a time. Batch-dumping floods the feed.
  • Good vibes only. This sub is our happy place. Let's keep it cordial and uplifting.

Full rules are in the sidebar.

Door of the Week

Every week I post a set of doors I've photographed and you vote for your favorite. It's just for fun — no submission required, just your opinion. Check the pinned post to vote on the current round, or visit the Door of the Week Gallery to see past winners.

Porta de Acqua in Venice, Italy [Door of the Month]

I complete forgot to post the door of the month for June 2026 here \o/. Let me rectify that now. I visited Venice in May and fell in love with portae de acqua (aka Venetian water doors).

Vote for the most colorful door in Lüneburg, Germany

Three colorful doors from a day trip to Lüneburg — a medieval brick city about 50km from Hamburg with some surprisingly vivid doors tucked along its lanes. A Wedgwood blue baroque door in a Gothic arch, a periwinkle door with ornate iron fanlight, and a deep teal door with a brass hand knocker. Which door gets your vote?

More Porto Doors

Further evidence that Porto doors have great vibes. Took this batch on my trip to Northern Portugal last year for Porto's craft beer festival.
