Did anyone see the dog run away from the Starbucks at Morgan junction around 8:55? Did the owner get the dog back?

This morning at the Morgan Junction intersection, a dog got spooked and ran across the intersection. It looked like it might have been tied to a chair because it dragged the chair into the street before it eventually got free and it bolted up Fauntleroy.

I wish I could have helped, I was in the car with my baby when I saw it happen.

Does anyone know if the dog and its owner were reunited? ☹️ I thought I saw what looked like the owner leave the Starbucks and ask which way the dog went. I’ve been thinking about the poor pup all morning!

Adding built ins around air ducts? (Making flatter ducts?)

I am planning on installing a wall of built in cabinets so that we can add additional storage to our basement as well as create a dedicated media center. However, I have one issue: we have air ducts that we would need to build around, or the built ins would just stop abruptly underneath the ducts.

I’m wondering if anyone has dealt with something similar and could share pics of what they did and how the results turned out. Or if there were any lessons learned during the process. I’m worried that the built ins would look dumb if there’s ductwork right in the middle of them.

Also wondering if anyone has any experience making the ducts look nicer without compromising ceiling height.

This would all be DIY.

Pic is of my basement, had AI remove the current furniture but the rest is generally accurate (except for some rogue carpeting)

Do you have an outdoor mud kitchen/play kitchen and live in a rainy area?

I keep getting mud kitchen content on social media and I think it would be great for my kiddo when she’s closer to two. I love the open ended play, and my favorite thing when I was little was making “potions“ in the backyard with things I found in the woods.

But I live in the PNW and so it’s pretty damp throughout the year. I’m not opposed to my child playing outdoors with good weather protection, but how well does an outdoor play kitchen hold up in wet environments? If you have one and live in a rainy area, does it get much use on drizzly days in the fall/spring? Do you do anything to protect it from the elements, like cover it when not in use or put it under an awning?

Thanks in advance!

Seeking books about: a friend who is adopted, and children’s books that feature multicultural characters

Our neighbors/good friends have an adopted daughter who is very close in age to my daughter (10 months). I wanted to find a book that talks about adoption from the friend’s perspective since our daughters will be growing up together and it’s bound to come up eventually. It’s ok if it’s meant for older children, I have a book wishlist and pick them to add to my own collection whenever I see other families selling their books.

I also wanted books that have diverse character illustrations. I realized recently all of her books are of animals and no people! I prefer stories that are more “slice of life” or a silly tale. I bookmarked “Bathe the Cat” as one possibility, if that helps get a sense of what I’m looking for.

Thanks in advance

Any negative effects of introducing Zyrtec to children under 1 yo?

My 9 month old has been really struggling with tree pollen allergies. Her allergies started the same day mine did (and I struggle with tree pollen), and her allergies are worse on days the pollen count is high, so I’m fairly confident that’s the issue. She is terribly congested at night despite clearing her nose out with saline + snot sucker. She gets rinsed off and her clothes changed after every time she’s outside. We have an air purifier running. And yet her nose is just constantly runny and bothering her, she sometimes has to breathe through her mouth, and she is getting allergy shiners under her eyes.

Her pediatrician says she meets the weight limit for taking Children’s Zyrtec and she can take it as needed. Are there studies that show the impacts of regular antihistamine administration for children this young?

So a few years ago I stockpiled the Beauty of Joseon Sun relief sunscreen. I purchased it from their website. Now I’m at the end of my stockpile and it looks like the website no longer has it? I found it on KBeauty.shop but I can’t tell if it’s the original sunscreen or some modified product for the US (since it also says no tariffs)

Anyone know if it’s the original formulation, or where I can pick it up?
