Has anyone shown off their cosmetic issues? I mean badges of honor?
I've been showing the good of my 2002 Targa. What about the bad? With 161K miles and used nearly daily, I cannot complain! Take a close look! Some blemishes are difficult to see.
I got this car from a friend of mine. When he owned it, he lived on the Strand in Oceanside CA. That beachfront salt air did give me some little rust bubbles under the paint on the driver-door and rear part under the rear windshield. It also has a ding over the front wheel and also the rear wheel and rear bumper cover. There is a weird circular-shaped paint defect towards the rear of the door handle. The front wheel trim plastic does not align as it is broken in the back. Clear coat coming off in the spoiler. Some paint missing from the driver-side rear view mirror. Some horizontal scratches on the driver-side lower rear quarter and vertical scratches near the fuel filler on the passenger-side. And finally, just your normal peppered front bumper cover!
I'll start fron driver-side and go around in the photos!
Please share yours!
I'm debating selling my 2003 M45. Are people looking for these cars lately? I bought mine around 2010 in San Diego with about 55k miles. I've owned it since and it has 161k miles. It was serviced by a NorCal Infiniti dealership with all receipts so it runs great and everything works. However, it does have a significant dent in the rear driver-side door due to a hit and run, and other exterior cosmetic issues. Only interior issue is a crack in the driver side seat bottom. It still looks good in Golden Sand metallic. 340hp and 333lbs... it still rips.
This is a unique and special car. I only saw one sold this year on Classic dot com so I thought I would see what the reception is like here if there are m45 enthusiasts out there? I don't want to let Gloria go, but I should reduce the fleet!
Thoughts?
Installing the 15mm spacers is an easy job and I like the wheels being almost exactly flush with the fenders. It took longer to clean the insides of the wheel, the hubs and the brake calipers than anything else! I tried match the photos from the original post to new photos and added many more for your viewing pleasure!
I'm looking to change my oil pan in my 2002 Targa because the factory baffles can allow oil in the intake, like an AOS fail problem, during hard left hand turns! My mechanic said to look into the X51 oil pan with upgraded baffles. Does anyone have any experience with this?

A bit low for my taste, but still looks great!
I felt like my 996.2 Targa roof has been slower to close for awhile, and it is definitely slower in the cold. Its hot here today so I opened up the roof, checked for debris, gave it a wipe-down, and applied some lithium grease to the tracks. They squeaked after a couple open/close cycles so I got in there with a toothbrush and cleaned it out and then applied some dielectric grease. After a few more open/close cycles, it does not squeak and it opens and closes smoother and just a bit faster. It slows down less at the first "hump" in the close process. I went to the dealership last year asking for a service and they said no such thing, so I went for it and so far so good.
