Opinion: Sly was the most accomplished Cooper after the events of the 1st game

Obvious spoilers for the first three games ahead.

In Sly 3, Sly questions if he matches the Coopers’ legacy when he sees the mass wealth accumulated in the vault. I think he was selling himself massively short.

I think he became the most successful Cooper after the events of the first game. He and his gang took out Clockwerk, who had been menacing the Cooper lineage for decades upon decades. Clockwerk came perilously close to stamping out the Cooper lineage for good when he killed Sly’s parents. And Sly ended him and the Fiendish 5, putting them behind bars. Already, I think he’s accomplished more than any of his ancestors.

In the second game, he and the gang steal all of Clockwerk’s parts from the Klaww Gang. Even when outwitted by Arpeggio and Jean Bison, Sly and the Gang found a way to defeat Clockla — the second time they took out a fully built Clockwerk, ending his threat for good in the present day.

So Sly managed to take out his family’s boogeyman not once, but twice, in the matter of a few years.

And in the events of the third game, Sly manages to get to the Cooper Vault and get through the Gauntlet of the Ancestors, cementing his familial right of passage. All of this after putting more crime lords behind bars.

Sure, thief-wise, he had more work to do to match his ancestors, but accomplishment-wise, Sly surpassed them the first time he destroyed Clockwerk. Everything that came after was gravy.

I caught my Daughter listening to Come Together by the Beatles ..

She was listening to the Isolated vocals of Come Together but only when John Lennon yells out intimately “Come” including his subsequent moaning. She repeated it over and over until I asked her to stop. Should I be concerned?
