How often?

Hi friends, I’m super curious on how often, and where your hot spots are? Do they change frequently? How long has it been going on for you?

Thanks!

How often is this twitching?

Hi friends, I’m super curious on how often, and where your hot spots are? Do they change frequently? How long has it been going on for you?

Thanks!

Can’t stop obsessing

This is honestly just a venting session? I guess.
I’ve had body wide twitching for 3 months now, all labs and imaging normal, neurologist does not suggest an EMG due to no weakness.

I started taking magnesium glycinate and it seemed to help, almost thought the twitches were gone, but they eventually made their way back. (Now mostly in my right calf or upper biceps)

I just wish I could stop twitching, every little ache or pain, every weird sensation in my body I constantly obsess over, convinced myself I couldn’t swallow on my right side, constantly doing weakness checks, tip toe check, heel check. When does it ever end? Some days are better than others but it’s like my whole life evolves around this.

Twitching/pre cramp

It’s been 2 long months of my symptoms that first started off as a left jello arm(still functioning as always), body wide muscle fasciculations, and pre cramp feelings(feels like a Charlie horse will occur but doesn’t). Sometimes my calves feel fight and sometimes they don’t. I also feel like sometimes I talk weird like I forget certain words I want to say, I guess brain fog? I’ve been reading too many stories I’m starting to scare myself. Clear MRI’s, clear neuro exam, and neurologist declined EMG as he said it wasn’t necessary and suspects BFS.

Magnesium fasciculations

Sooooo.. I’ve been taking magnesium glycinate 200mg for about 2 weeks and my twitching disappeared. So to test it out I stopped taking the magnesium for 2 days and the twitching is fully back now.

Just for reference all my labs in magnesium, b12, iron, and vitamin d came back excellent.

Is this a good sign or bad sign? Can ALS fasciculations be stopped with supplements?

What were your first symptoms?

Hi I’m new here. I’m 30F just had my second baby in March. It’s been tough, I’m trying to figure out what’s going on. PCP ran many tests including ANA and thyroid as well as deficiencies and even at creatine kinase- all came back normal. This all started with burning in my neck and shoulders, followed by widespread muscle twitching, and now I have pre cramp sensations in areas of my body but no Charlie horses yet. I feel fatigued and devastated as I just want to know what’s going on with me.

1st neuro apt

Hi all! New to this group, I have been twitching widespread for about 2 months with specifically popcorn twitches. I have left arm and neck burning as a secondary symptom, no weakness. My neuro ran a full panel on me including CK and all came back normal. Performed a clinical exam and reassured me this doesn’t look like ALS. He did not offer an EMG. Is this accurate? Should I push for a EMG?

Burning neck and shoulder

I have been having a burning sensation in my neck and shoulder followed by widespread muscle fasciculations. I also have a weird pre-cramping feeling in some parts of my body but I don’t actually cramp. I just had my MRI yesterday, any thoughts? This sucks

MRI Twitching?

So I’ve been body wide twitching for about 2 months now, it did finally slow down a bit but since I got my MRI today(no contrast) My right calf has been twitching non stop(which is unusual since my twitches have been body wide, quick and random). Anybody else get anything like this after an MRI?

Pre cramping?

Starting to freak out, I have a weird pre cramp feeling in both feet in both hands and under my knees. It feels like a Charlie horse is going to occur but doesn’t. I’ve been twitching widespread for almost 2 months with no noticeable weakness. Anyone else?

Burning neck and shoulder?

Burning neck and shoulder pain?

Hi there, some context- I’m 30 and had my 2nd baby 03/18/26. About 5’6 and 244lbs

June 1st of this year I was working alone from home with my little guy and multitasking(answering calls and typing with left hand while rocking baby in bouncer with right)-when I was finished with work I started to have burning in my neck in shoulder with my left arm feeling like jello. I did notice a few muscle twitches here and there as well.

About 2 weeks later 06/13/26 I got into a car accident where I was hit from behind. Head wasn’t hit, no broken bones or injuries but I did have slight whiplash as well as left arm pain. I do feel like this pain got better with the whiplash as I can turn my neck without having issues but I do have body wide twitching and burning in my neck and shoulder. I still have that jello arm feeling but no clinical weakness. Anyone else? I have a MRI scheduled. What does this sound like? Anything similar anybody had?

Vibrating shaking sensation?

I have been having slight muscle twitches(I can never visibly see them) and perceived weakness. I also feel very shaky or vibrating sensation when moving sometimes even at rest? Anyone else?

Can you really have twitching for more than 1 year and still get diagnosed with ALS?

I’ve recently come across a handful of stories where twitching has occurred for 1-3 years before diagnosis with no other symptoms.

Also have read about several clear EMG’s and then after some time passing got additional testing and diagnosed with ALS? How is this possible? Anyone ever had something like this? Super subtle un-alarming symptoms for years before actual failure?

How long can muscle twitches go on for before weakness?

Some context here, I’m 30F. I just recently had my 2nd baby 03/2026. My first was 2016. About a month ago I was left alone with baby while working from home, granted his a bigger baby about 2lbs bigger than the average baby. Anyways, I was multitasking with my computer on the left side of me, and baby directly in front of me in his bouncer. I was rocking baby with my right hand and taking calls/typing with my left hand, I noticed later on that day my shoulder felt “funny”. I can only describe it as “feeling” weak but I could obviously do everything normally. A few days later I noticed muscle twitching in that specific shoulder and forearm, this went on for about a week or so, it did seem to slow down and I didn’t notice it much anymore.

A few weeks after that, I had to take my baby to his appointment, normally dad is with me doing all the heavy lifting but dad got a vasectomy and I was stuck being a single mom (LOL). Anyways I lifted my baby in and out of the car a total of 6 times. The car seat weighs about 19 lbs and my baby weighs about 15lbs. I have the evenflo dual shift car seat and it’s bulky with wheels so it’s hard to get into the car. I mainly used my left arm to get baby in and out with a little help from my right. The next day I woke up again with my left arm feeling like “jello” or “feeling” week, but again I can still do everything per normal. I now have muscle twitching in my left arm, as well as on my chin, and here and there on my legs or other arm. I am a young mom and I am terrified. How long can this last before feeling actual failure? I’ve never felt like this ever, I’ve had sore arms before but it feels more like a useless jello or noodle, but I can still use the arm.
