My girlfriend (19) and I (20) have been together for almost 4 years. We don't care about caste, but our families are different. I'm a Mazhabi Sikhh and she's a Nai Sikhh.

She believes her parents have taken her to people who perform black magic or "toone tappan" 3–4 times because they want us to break up. They don't accept our relationship only because of caste.

I personally don't believe in black magic, but this situation is becoming stressful. Has anyone dealt with something similar? How did you handle family pressure like this?

ਮੇਰੀ ਗਰਲਫ੍ਰੈਂਡ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਲਗਭਗ 4 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ-ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਜਾਤ-ਪਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਅਹਿਮੀਅਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦੇ। ਮੈਂ ਮਝਬੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਨਾਈ ਸਿੱਖ ਹੈ।

ਉਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸਦੇ ਮੰਮੀ-ਪਾਪਾ 3–4 ਵਾਰ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਟੂਣੇ-ਟੱਪੇ (ਬਲੈਕ ਮੈਜਿਕ) ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਗਏ ਨੇ, ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਿ ਸਾਡਾ ਬ੍ਰੇਕਅੱਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ। ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਜਾਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਬੂਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ।

I need some advice because I'm really stressed.

I work as an AC mechanic/helper at my uncle's shop. Most of the time I do AC servicing and fitting, and sometimes repairs. I've been working there for about 4–5 months. My monthly salary is ₹11,000.

The problem is that our working hours are extremely long. We usually leave home around 8 AM, and many days we don't return until 11 PM or 12 AM. Sometimes it's even 2 AM.

A few days ago, we worked from 8 AM until around 1 AM, so almost 19 hours. The next morning I was completely exhausted. My body was hurting, and I genuinely couldn't go to work. My uncle came to my house to pick me up, but I told him I needed to rest. He went alone.

The next day I got ready for work, packed my bag, and even kept it in the vehicle, but he left without me. Today (the third day), I asked him if I should come to work, and he just said, "Rehnde" (don't come).

Now I'm sitting at home, and I still haven't received this month's salary. I'm worried that he might not call me back or might refuse to pay me.

Was I wrong for taking just one day off after working almost 19 hours? What would you do in my situation? Should I wait for him to contact me, or should I ask him directly about my salary and whether I still have the job?
