I made Toned, an iPhone photo editor where you develop a negative before making the print
I built Toned, an iPhone photo editor that lets you work through film, development, paper and toning separately.
You start with a photo from your library, choose a film stock, develop the negative, then make a print from it. You can inspect the negative along the way and save the settings as an editable recipe.
If you use VSCO or Lightroom for film-style edits, the reason to try Toned is this particular workflow. You get to experiment with how the negative and the paper affect the finished image, with separate controls for each stage.
The video follows one photo through Ektar 100, Warmtone FB paper and a little copper toning.
It's free to download on iOS 18+. The free version includes three film stocks, two papers and selenium toning, with branded exports from those ingredients. Toned Plus is an optional one-time purchase, listed at $14.99 on the US App Store. No subscription. You can preview the Plus ingredients for free; exporting the recipe in this video requires Plus.

I'd be interested to hear whether seeing the negative helps you make editing decisions, or whether you'd mostly stay on the print view.
