I got genetic testing done shortly after my cancer diagnosis and they found a CHEK2 mutation.

I have stage four breast cancer.

I guess this gene mutation is linked to other types of cancers too and I wasn't sure how rare or common it is to have this mutation.

I was just curious about it.

Hello everyone. I was wondering if any of you had a memory about your treatment or cancer experience that you would like to share?

This doesn't have to be a positive memory, but it can be if you want.

You can also share as many memories as you like.

I just find it nice to be able to read and relate to other people's experiences especially since sometimes it feels like people who don't have cancer really can't relate and have a hard time even empathizing sometimes.

Anyway my memory I'd like to share is that when I was in the hospital I had a peg tube and couldn't eat, and I was also having a hard time drinking plain water.

I wanted sweet tea really badly but the kitchen didn't have sweet tea.

I mentioned it to one of the nurses and she made me two pitchers of sweet tea and kept them in the fridge at the nurse's station and she even wrote up a little card about how she made it and put that on my wipe off board in my room. That way if I ran out of sweet tea one of the other nurses would be able to make me more.

I thought that was so nice of her and I even kept the card with the tea instructions when I left the hospital.

Hey all! I have felt terrible for a while but I'm doing a little better today.

It's been a week and a half since my last chemo which was my #7 Enhertu.

I had to go get fluids on Friday because I'd had diarrhea for like four days straight and threw up on Friday too.

Weirdly this was the first time my side effects were so bad from the Enhertu normally it just makes me really tired for a week.

Anyway the fluids got rid of the diarrhea but I still didn't feel great. Still I highly recommend getting fluids if you can when you need them, it really helps.

Yesterday I still felt terrible but today I woke up feeling a bit better.

I had a V8 energy drink which I LOVE and can not recommend enough,

And I was able to walk across the field to go visit my folks for the first time in like a week and a half which was nice because I usually visit them in the mornings.

Then this afternoon I sat outside in the sun for a while which was nice too.

Anyway I hope you're all doing well.

I'm honestly just happy to feel more "normal" today because I've been feeling so atrocious for a couple months.

I feel like shit.

I had a cold for like a month straight but it's finally gone.

I've been very dizzy for like a month and a half.

I got a brain MRI on Monday and found out my brain is still clear which is nice, but it also means my dizziness is just a big question mark and I have no idea when it will end.

Started having gut issues yesterday and today and I'm just tired of feeling like shit.

It's weird I got diagnosed de novo June 2025 and I'm finally getting down in the dumps about it.

I just want to feel better.

I want to have energy to cook and do my hobbies and yesterday I spent four hours sitting in the living room wishing I was in my bedroom because I didn't have the energy to move.

Hope you're all doing okay.

Feel free to vent here, nobody in my real life can relate to any of this at all so I barely even bother to complain about anything.

Hey all. I have stage four breast cancer diagnosed a little over a year ago.

I'm an idiot and didn't call my cancer center when I started feeling really dizzy and I'd go blind briefly during the dizzy spells and I'd drop things.

I also went to sit down a few times in midair instead of on an actual seat and had to realize and catch myself so I wouldn't fall.

This went on for a few weeks in between my appointments and I just chalked it up to me also being sick with a cold or maybe the steroids I was on or maybe low blood pressure.

But I told my oncologist at my appointment on Friday and they scheduled me for a brain MRI first thing this morning so now I'm kind of scared.

Anyway I don't even know why I'm posting here I'm just scared. I know people live a long time with brain mets sometimes but if I'm already having these symptoms from them I just wonder how much worse it will get and how quickly and I've only made it a little over a year from my diagnosis so far and I'm just really sad right now.

Anyway I hope you're all doing well and I'll update this when I get my results. I really hope it's not in my brain but it's all through my spine and was in my clivus bone when I was first diagnosed so I'm just not feeling very hopeful right now.

Hey all how are we doing?

I had my #7 Enhertu infusion today.

A few weeks ago I got a cold on top of the cancer and that's the second time I've had a cold in addition to the cancer. (I was diagnosed in June 2025)

Whenever I've gotten a cold while sick with the cancer I also get weird symptoms like confusion when I'm tired or when I wake up in the middle of the night. And the cold seems to last forever like a few weeks before I can kick it.

These last few weeks have been especially odd though, like extreme dizziness when I stand up and then I've realized I also temporarily go blind during these spells, I'll drop things or hold my cup sideways so stuff spills out of it because I can't see. I even tried to sit down a few times in midair because I misjudged where the chair or toilet was so then I have to catch myself in midair and be like okay that's not where I need to sit down.

So that's been very weird.

Luckily I get my chemo infusions every three weeks and I always see my oncologist before my infusions. I say that's lucky because I see that a lot of people don't see their oncologist as often.

Anyway so I saw him today and I told him about my symptoms and he said he'd like to schedule me for a brain MRI just in case. Also I should have another PET scan scheduled soon which is good because my last PET scan actually looked really good.

Anyway we sort of guessed around at what could be causing my symptoms whether it's that I'm on prednisone, the cold I had, low blood pressure maybe.

Neither of us think it's the Enhertu because I've been tolerating that quite well and really only get fatigued from that.

Also I had progression before I got on the Enhertu when I was just on herceptin and perjeta, but once I got on the Enhertu we saw really positive results on my scans.

I just wanted to make that clear because I don't want anyone to worry about Enhertu giving them these symptoms.

I did have mild pneumonitis initially with the enhertu but we got that solved by taking a break from the enhertu and doing just prednisone and then going back onto the enhertu.

Anyway these posts are a journal of sorts for me but I also know how helpful it can be to read what everyone else is going through so this is just me sharing I guess.

Hey everyone, how are we doing? I had my #6 Enhertu infusion a little over a week ago.

I've also been sick with a cold for a little longer than that.

I'm also really dizzy lately and I'm not sure if it's because of being on prednisone or what. Maybe low blood pressure, it feels like low blood pressure but I read if anything the steroids should be increasing my blood pressure so that's odd.

Anyway I'm just trucking along. I hope you're all doing okay. I was a little grumpy and feeling sorry for myself yesterday because I have no energy.

I am usually lacking energy for about a week after chemo anyway but then to have a cold on top of it it's not great.

Last time I was at the cancer center they asked me "No allergies, right?" Like they always do and I said "Nope, lucky me!" And she started laughing and then I started laughing too. She said it was just the way I said it but I was like yeah I didn't really think of how funny it is, I'm here with stage four breast cancer but I'm lucky I don't have any allergies 😆

Anyway do you all have any funny stories you'd like to share?

How are we all doing? I'm not doing so hot. I had my fifth Enhertu infusion on Thursday and it's Tuesday now so it's been like five days and I'm just exhausted.

I feel whiny for even feeling crappy which is also weird but I know my symptoms could be worse and have been worse.

Idk I guess I'm just having a hard time right now.

I've had a lot of appointments already this month which has been kind of annoying but I also just reminded myself that I basically had two months off of treatment before that.

I'm back on Enhertu again and I had taken a break from it because I developed mild pneumonitis.

Now I've had my fourth Enhertu infusion and just had a cat scan this morning to see how my lungs are doing.

If it goes well I've got another Enhertu infusion in a couple weeks. So fingers crossed for clear lungs! My last PET scan was really good after only three Enhertu infusions so I'm really hoping I can keep going with this treatment.

Hello everyone, how are we doing today?

I've been off treatment for a couple months to recover from some pneumonitis caused by enhertu but it was very mild.

I had my fourth enhertu treatment today because we are trying it again since it was so effective against the cancer before.

I took prednisone this morning too and that usually gives me tons of energy but I fell asleep in the car on the way home and then napped most of the rest of the day!

Oh well, fingers crossed the enhertu is already doing its thing just like before.

Hope you're all doing well and treatment is going well.

For me I have two pillowcases that I put fresh ice packs in and I sleep with the ice packs on my stomach and near my neck.

I also have lots of pillows that I cuddle.

I also have two dogs that sleep in my bed with me.

I also have a mouth guard because I clench my jaw when I sleep.

Anyway my routine is so good that even if I'm not tired I can make myself tired by putting in my mouth guard and cuddling my ice packs. I get really good sleep.

What about you? Does your nighttime routine help you sleep well?

Anyone else wonder why the original vampires weren't just constantly doing whatever they wanted after being alive for so long? They could compel anyone and should be rich after so many years alive but they only threw one big party in TVD when Esther met Elena.

It seems weird given that Rebekah also wanted to go to a high school dance. Why didn't they just have their own dance and invite everyone?

It would have also been interesting to see more examples of riches they'd acquired over time, especially old riches from different time periods.

I'm only in season 4 of The Originals and I think it does a slightly better job of showing their wealth but not really.

​

I just know if I was a thousand year old vampire I would have acquired so many shiny things over the years lol.
