A clean and simple desk space to get the work done

Hi, im new here and thought i'd share a bit of my current setup. I tend to overthink and overcomplicate things sometimes, so i decide to keep this as simple as possible. Thinking it maybe time for a few upgrades though. What are your thoughts?

5'8" short thigh struggle, looking for chairs recs with smaller seat depth

Im 5’8” with shorter thighs (17” hip-to-knee) and i seriously wish someone had told me earlier that manufacturer height charts are pretty his or miss

Took me way too long to realize overall height means very little for chair fit if your proportions are slightly off center or unusual. I spent years trusting spec sheets that said a chair was ideal for 5'5"– 6'0, only to be constantly uncomfortable. The standard 18” seat pans leave me stuck between this annoying case: either the pan digs into the back of my knees or I slump forward and my lower back gets zero support (like a shrimp yeah)

For anyone with a similar build or nearly cause everyone is different, how did you guys solve this? What chairs actually shrink down and feel comfortable?

Shame to admit but it took me way too long to realize femur length > overall height for chair fit (5'8" short thigh struggle)

Hi im new here and scrolled here for a bit now. Quick story time here, i spent years paying attention to lumbar support, backrest height while completely ignoring seat depth when picking office chairs

Used to strictly follow manufacturer guides like if a chart said a chair was good for 5'8", id go for that. But every time, something always felt quite off and i couldn't get why it was still uncomfortable despite being the exact target height?

Then i finally realized that it’s my femur length. Im 5'8" 165 lbs, typical but my thighs are on the shorter side (~17" from hip to knee fold if that makes sense?). Most standard seats dig right into the back of my knees unless i sit forward, which completely defeats the lumbar support

So decide to stop believing those numbers (yeah i woke up) and actively looking for an office chair with seat depth adjustment that can go down to 15.5" – 16.5" (or just has a really good slider range) so my back can actually reach the backrest, not the air

Would love to hear any HG recs from you guys. My budget is quite comfortable though it does not extend to $1k so pls don’t let me go too far
