In defense of Arne Slot...

For any pool fans who that might get mad, I mad a defense of amorim on my old account and he got sacked like 3 weeks later, so best of luck the jinx works again.

Obviously liverpool have been underwhelming this season, they were the defending champions, spent half a billion on new arrivals including the one of the best players in the Bundesliga and Isak. The media said they were favorites for the league, the first few games seemed to suggest that, but then it all began to fall apart and now liverpool are needing to step up their final 2 games and hope bournemouth stumble to get champions league football.

But there's some context to complicates the picture, the league this season has been abnormally competative, nobody expected brighton, bounremouth, Brentford, Everton and others to challenge for European football, nobody expected Carrick to pop off with united halfway through the season, nobody expected Leoni to tear his ACL first month at the club leaving the team with limited defensive depth, nor did we expect Salah to have such a drop off in form and most of the signings struggle the same way.

But despite all this, pool are 5th and have probably an 80% chance of getting champions league in 2 weeks time . Yes slot has looked seriously out of his depth and the football is shit at times but for the most part the results are good enough. The team is in transition with the Klopp-era old guard aging out and leaving with younger talents like Ngumoha shining through.

In my opinion the slot-out faction are being just a tad bit dramatic, liverpool haven't performed badly enough to warrant his sacking and things could always be worse as seen at chelsea and spurs.

All in all I say keep slot another year or two and see what happens.

Being a deadbeat dad should be a criminal offense

To have a child and then not see them or only come around like once every other week to fuck their mom is for all intents and purposes an act of child neglect. Just because a 5 year old boy isn't straight up starving doesn't mean he's all fine and good without 2 decent parents. I've known too many single mothers who honestly seem like regular women only to get shafted by their 0.8 gpa boyfriend who leaves them with a child at 18 completely fucking over 2 people(obligatory not all women).

And for the claim that by putting the dad in jail is also denying the kid a father(obligatory not all men), I can assure you 50% of the time that deadbeat dad will never give a fuck about his kids, 25% of the time he'll end up in jail regardless, and 20% of the time he gets killed on his own. So by putting delinquent fathers in prison you aren't really taking anything away from the kid.

It should be noted for the sake of the rules that not all women and not all men exhibit this behavior and most men and women are or would make decent parents.

Where is this Foden PR campaign coming from?

Commentators on USA have praised the guy probably 15 times saying hiw you gotta feel bad for him, he's on a redemption arc, he's an exceptional footballer etc.

Ever since that all timer assist to Eze for the england team it's as if there's been an entire machine trying to rehabilitate his image for the world cup and for what?

Regardless of his performance this game, Foden's been wank all year and much of last year and probably doesnt truly deserve to go to the world cup. For the national team he's just as bad because he is the embodiment of a system player. It's not like he's had constant injuries hampering his development or any known personal tragedies either.

Like where was this level of media sympathy for Saka? Rashford? Sancho? Hell even James Maddison whose has a horrific injury that ruled him out for 90% of the season doesn't get this level of PR dedicated to him.

Does Fodens dad own Sky Sports and NBC or something?

Lack of subtitles option on non-english films

I've been wanting to watch Chungking Express which is in Chinese, but I can't get subtitles on it. There isn't even an option for subtitles when I watch the movie, but for The Pitt which is in English I can pick subtitles in whatever language I want.

Is there a way to remedy this?

If chelsea don't make champions league they are fucked financially. They've got a bloated squad of chronic under-performers who are all on 5+ year contracts and while BlueCo's strategy is to buy these young promising players on the cheap and sell them for a sizable profite what they've neglected is that the only way to improve a players market value is to have them play good football. Much of the chelsea squad barely play because there's simply not enough space on the bench for all of them.

Much of the established core like Enzo, cucerella, Joao pedro, etc will be tempted to leave while they can and win bigger and better things. While the more mediocre second line of players can either stay, hope another tram is stupid enough to sign them, or head off the Strasbourg.

And that's not to mention how this impacts the culture of the squad, just look at guys like garnacho.

I don't see how chelsea recover rom this and it seems they're sleepwalking their way into a serious long term malaise thanks to so much attention being on spurs which are admittedly far worse. We might not see chelsea in the UCL for a long time. What do you guys think?

● The states of Abia, Anambra, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo are consolidated back into a singular eastern region.

● The eastern region woukd be called Biafra with a regional capital at Enugu.

● Regional control of internal security(like a more powerful state police), education, internal spending, etc.

● FG controls foreign affairs, currency, national security, power grid etc.

● Profit sharing agreement on oil revenue

● Some sort of FG representation

● Maybe separate sports leagues/teams and Olympic committee.

The rest of Nigeria remains how it is.

What do you guys think?
