Wolf Lake crowd. Holiday Fireworks

My stepdaughter is requesting to accompany her friends to Wolf Lake this evening. I’m unfamiliar with the place and am concerned about her safety. I’m wondering if it’s a suitable gathering for a naive 15-year-old girl. Additionally, I’d like to know if it has a good reputation for being safe. I’m hesitant but want to ensure my wife and I have peace of mind before we consider allowing her to go without us. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you everyone.

Being a stepfather

I’m hitting a breaking point with the way things are being handled in my household, and I need some outside perspective.
At the beginning of summer, my stepkids agreed to a list of responsibilities around the house. None of it has been completed. On top of that, my 15-year-old stepdaughter stole $330 from us last week. She says she’s going to pay it back, but nothing has been done to address it.
What’s frustrating is the complete lack of accountability. She has full access to a phone, spends most of her time with friends, and has admitted to smoking and drinking, yet there are no real consequences. My wife is extremely permissive and will drive them anywhere, anytime, while telling me I care too much and need to lower my expectations.
This has turned into a serious conflict between us. I’m also concerned about the impact this environment is having on my 2-year-old, who is already picking up behaviors from the older kids.
I’m not trying to control everything, but I do think there needs to be some structure, boundaries, and consequences. Right now I feel like I’m the only one taking any of this seriously.
How have others handled major differences in parenting style with a spouse, especially when there’s theft, substance use, and no follow-through on responsibilities?

This is difficult to handle

These two kids have become a thorn in my side since they’ve been in my life. Now that it is summer and have lists of things to do around the house (that they agreed to at the beginning of the summer) not a single task has been completed. First of all my SD stole $330 from us last week. She’s promising that she will pay it back but it hasn’t been done. My wife gives her full access to a cell phone, she hangs out with her friends 24/7 and has accomplished absolutely nothing. My wife is basically a taxi driver on my dime and will take them whereever and whenever they ask. There is complete lack of discipline when it comes to these kids. The 15 sd has admitted to smoking and drinking and there hasn’t been an ounce of punishment or accountability. My wife is telling me I care too much and to lower my expectations. This just turned into a huge fight and I don’t know what to do or say to ease the tension. These kids are setting a terrible example for my 2 year old who constantly mimics their behavior. What should I do and what should be done about this behavior?

Clutch chatter

Mk7 R stage 2+ tune with all supporting mods including a Ringer Racing stage 4 smf clutch. I’m still getting chatter at idle but it disappears when push the clutch all the way in. I’m past the break in period by about 500 miles but I’m still getting some noise. Is there a part I need to add or change to a different fluid?

Suggestions are appreciated

Intake manifold suggestions

I’ll give some context on the issue. I have an mk7 manual R with a handful of mods. (Jackal stage 2+ tune, ringer racing stage 4 clutch, Wagner FMIC. APR coilpacks, IE intake system, revised DV valve, IE turbo muffler and elbow. etc. ) I’m very strict about my maintenance intervals. The car is pretty much flawless besides a few dings and scratches on the exterior) anyway my mechanic is suggesting an upgraded billet intake manifold and is saying that he smells coolant. The car has no leaks, the water pump was just replaced. I check the reservoir every time I fuel up. I also check my oil every time and it looks perfect. How could he possibly smell coolant. There are no broken lines, fittings or hoses leaking anything but he swears this is the fix.

Should I even consider replacing the IM or just keep it OEM? If so, what units should i consider?

Thoughts?

So I have a MK7 R with piano black trim. It’s a PITA to keep clean and smudge-free. Does anyone know of a company that makes something to cover those pieces up without spending a fortune? I would do something CF or matte if possible. Otherwise, I’d have to take it to a wrap shop or something to get it done properly. I was hoping for a DIY option if possible. Thanks for the info.
