My wide field rig (1) and my high magnification rig (2)

The wide field scope is a William optics Pleiades 68 with an asi 2600mc pro

The narrow field scope is a Celestron c8 with an asi 183 mc pro

Both have:
ZWO asi air mini
Pegasus Astro powerbox
ZWO EAF
ASI120mm guide camera

They both share the AM3 mount, as well as the filters (Optolong L-ultimate for narrowband, baader UV/IR cut for everything else)

the counterweight is balanced for the heavier of the two

In stark contrast to those who post their disgusting concoctions (looking at you KFC gravy guy). This is how I take mine.

Size 00 pills
Put the shrooms in a coffee grinder, grind into powder, use manual pill press to pack pills

.5 grams per pill. No flavor, takes 1 hour to kick to in.

Accessory mounting plate for Celestron C8

I made this mounting plate that provides a flat surface to Velcro non flexure critical accessories (astrophotography controller, power distribution, dew heater controller, etc)

It has feet to contour to the outer diameter of the OTA.

While not very technically impressive, I’m quite happy as it makes it much easier to use astrophotography components modularly without having to buy an expensive losmandy plate. (If you have a 3d printer that is)

It was made using PETG, although it would probably be best printed in ASA or ABS, PLA would probably also work but would be more susceptible to extreme temperatures as well as impacts.

If you were wanting to do the same then this should work with most 8” optical tubes

Genuinely wth would cause this (PETG printed on Bambu P2S)

.4mm nozzle, 240c
Print bed auto leveled before this print, 85c
Chamber temp hovered around 60c

This is just Bambu PETG basic on my P2S fed by an ams that was showing 18% humidity

Sliced with Bambu Studio
2000 mm/s^2 acceleration
600 mm/s speed
Auto flow dynamics
.2mm layer height
.8mm retraction
3 wall loops
30% gyroidal infill
Top layer set to 5 layers, 1mm thick

This product description made me wince, shame on the company

This is for a 5w blue laser.

The “Tourism, like hiking.” Just made me laugh, cause what does that even imply

Imagine, if you will

Imagine you’re a bug in the North American Inland Temperate Rainforest. It’s late in the evening, the sun has just fallen below the horizon. The air is cooling and you and your best mates find this lovely warm surface to hover over. Life is good.

Then a beast entirely unknowable to you slams through your entire extended family (all 7000 of them) without breaking a sweat.

One moment you’re with your fuckin horse fly girlfriend or whatever the next moment she explodes like in that first episode of the boys when a train runs through Hughie’s shawty

I cannot see through my windshield at the moment and these bastards won’t come off

Potentially swapping Survey meter for hobbiest scintillator

So I’ve currently got this Ludlum model 14c with a 44-9 probe. Their condition is decent.

The probe has some dents in the mesh that protects the mica, it’s got some paint scratched off on the handle.

The meter was calibrated by JRT in 2022 when it was with its last owner at a medical radiology lab, I’m not sure how it was treated when it was with them, and it is missing its check source cage

I’m guessing the thing is worth around $500-$600 but I’m not entirely sure so I was hoping for input there

Now the other thing I was actually looking for a discussion on is the spectroscopy abilities of the alpha hound ab+g vs the soon to ship radiacode 103g

I know the 103g will probably offer better functionality in most use cases, but I really appreciate the right to repair approach that alpha hound is dedicated to also the visualization gimmick is cool as hell.

I realize trading a big boy survey meter for a hobby tool might seem like a bad move but I’ve already decided the Ludlum doesn’t offer the features I’m looking for.

Anyways please provide your insights, as I cannot find a whole lot on the alphahound due to the crushing competition that is radiacode

What instrument is this? (Sorry I don’t have better pictures)

I’ve seen it in several fever ray performances, in live performances it’s plugged in, also seems to have a reed as I could see some wood when the player opened their mouth

Reverse image search didn’t yield anything useful.

A lot of conflicting statements out there about ammo comparability and I was hoping for some help from you guys

I picked up this 184 mini 14 the other day. I’ve read a few sources that say it could blow up with 5.56 and some that say it’s safe. I have an ass load of m855 and would like to be able to use it rather than needing to buy some .223 but I also don’t want the 184 series folding mini 14 to explode.

The reason I’m asking at all is because in the ones that said it’s not safe they didn’t actually talk about any experiences or show any pictures of a blown up mini. So it sounded like it could just be some fudd facts
