Happy to come across this sub

I just got my first AK so I thought it would be a good reason to make my first post here. Stay safe

I think the discourse around Joel, Ellie, and Abby is just another example why this game is so amazing

I’m hella late to the party but I’m playing TLOU2 right after finishing 1 and I think it’s interesting seeing people’s assessments on morality and who’s right and wrong now that I’m getting deeper into the story.

It broke my heart to see Joel get his wig split, but what goes around comes around. I do think it’s interesting that so much discussion is had about Joel and his decision to save Ellie, while I haven’t seen much acknowledgement about Jerry. I just got to the part where he and Marlene are talking and he didn’t have the balls to straight up answer Marlene’s question about if it was Abby. Obviously it’s way easier for Jerry to rationalize euthanizing a kid against her knowledge to make a cure when it’s not personally affecting him(just how it is for us vs Joel).

I understand why Joel, Abby, and Ellie all made their choices, and wrong or right I would probably do the exact same in their shoes. Do you guys think Jerry would do the same if he was Joel?(and had the same capabilities as Joel of course)

Why do (specifically) defense contractors require or “desire” applicants to have a bachelors in STEM for jobs that in practice don’t utilize calculus/physics/chemistry ?

I feel pretty ignorant on this trend I see when it comes to job listings. For what I’m referring to, the listing may or may not have “engineer” in the title and the the description will be a lot of words to explain the job entails functions like: aircraft operation, troubleshooting, ordering parts, aircraft config, MX controlling and test planning, briefing DoD members, and tracking technical data which are all parts of maintaining aircraft except the maintenance itself. Outside looking in, it seems like a lot of hard work and dedication to require for the tasks someone would be responsible for if that makes sense.

For context I’m just a plebeian college dropout who likes airplanes, so maybe that’s why I don’t get it? But I really would like to understand

Edit: I really didn’t think it was controversial to not understand why I need a degree to do my job in naval aviation as I do as a civilian. Cheers

Is Merdian defense corp overpriced or worth the $

Not a gun guy, just know how to use them safely and enjoy the hobby. This sub seems to hold the m90 in good regard but i don’t think i have seen much about meridian, they want $1100 more than the Zastava so it better be worth it ya know? I know ill have to change stuff on the m90 for lights optics blah blah blah so I will account for that cost as well

Are MA commands normally miserable?

I was aviation for my time while in, 1 o level command and i level. Now I work at a base where a bunch of friends from my first squadron are stationed and these guys(all first classes) have had to do ASF here.

For the life of me I can’t understand why this command is such dog shit. I’m talking egregious amounts of sexual harassment AND assault, physical assault(between people at the command AND sailors and their spouses), sexism, racism, infidelity, and just pathetic bullying and discrimination from leadership(E5-E7).

Long story short a specific junior sailor is respectful(not perfect, obviously no one is but it’s clear they are getting shit on for things they aren’t responsible for)and squared away (co-signed by the first classes on ASF)who is constantly being targeted for the actions of others.

They are terrified of speaking up because they are new to the navy and their in house leadership are objectively SHIT sailors who are too worthless to take care of their people. I told them that facing “retaliation” for speaking up is a perfect excuse for someone to get their pp smacked regardless of rank *cough cough chiefs mess*

Am I in the wrong/wasting my time for having a meeting with base skipper to let them know what’s been going on? This sailor has gone to CMC multiple times, and say what you want but expecting a chief to hold another one accountable is not something you should rely on. Their E5 “LPO” all the way to their SECO need to get their fucking heads out of their asses.

We are all grown ass adults and a fucking tab on your chest does not make you God, doesn’t matter who you are. You are still required to be a professional.

WBP restock!

I know some of the VA people are coming down to the wire on the new legislation and others have just been waiting for a restock in general. Hopefully 556 comes back in stock soon so I can get my first AK

Can comic readers let me know?

I haven’t ready the comic yet but I have seen panels where mark has visibly aged but I didn’t know he was “only” 500 years old in them. Is it because he’s mixed that he ages a quicker than his dad?
