French toast, bacon (including pieces taken from mama’s plate), maple syrup, applesauce pouch & olives leftover from first thing in the morning

My kid refuses to go inside and it’s a Saturday so I can spend a little more time preparing breakfast. Cat (not pictured) hasn’t left his side, including for a multiple block walk around the neighborhood

I survived solo parenting a toddler with strep throat

homemade banana bread, mozzarella and ice water (not pictured)

my husband was in Vegas on a work trip and my son was showing signs of strep after nap on Monday at daycare. took him to the urgent care and had to call off work with his fever. he’s high energy but also so cranky with varying tummy or throat pain.

we’re new homeowners and I haven’t lived ground floor in years so I’m paranoid double checking doors and all the windows in the house before I go to bed.

husband comes home and we do lawn work for hours and hours over the weekend which we are new to and don’t know which plants to pull and which to keep.

full day back at work today and I’m tired. girl dinner after getting that boy inside and in his bed

we made it through!!

morning milk

my son (23mo) woke up at 4am with a wet diaper today so I brought him in to bed with us. He cuddled for a while and then got up and left so I hung around and waited, figured he went back to his room to grab his blanket or flop down in there.

I come out and he’s in the kitchen with the fridge open, sippy cup open on the floor about to try to pour milk into his own cup! He’s not even 2! Proud of him for his independence and confidence. I did not know kids were this capable this young, any moments like that recently for you?
