Taking on a cedar strip restoration

I’m in the research and exploratory surgery phase of an inherited cedar strip canoe project. I have never made one but have decent wood working skills but don’t want to do anything unspeakable to the original builders hard work. Based on what little I one I need to cut out any glass that isn’t bonded plus a margin to ensure the existing glass is well bonded. Feather back sections that I cut and sand down any punky wood to clean bright wood before I patch in new glass. The gunwale on bow and stern is fairly hammered and I’ll cut those back to clean wood and patch on there too. I’d appreciate any advice on what wood to use and how aggressive I should be cutting back. I don’t see any fastenings but was playing on using some brass screws to secure the gunwale patches unless that’s a bad offer too. The inner gunwale looks to be in good condition and was hoping to leave those in place before if possible. The hull itself, seats, thwart etc also look/feel solid to the Aul test.

I’m also wondering how to know how deep I should sand the hull before I epoxy and poly. I have limited boat building knowledge and apologize if I’m already way off base. Also, if this post is better over on boat building, let me know.

Salvage Motor Wiring Questions (what goes where)

I'm in the process of using a salvaged AC blower with a, from what I can tell, OEM motor that I can't find any documentation on. I'm trying to not let the magic smoke out when I start bench testing my wiring so here I am. I am the wrong kind of engineer to feel confident in what I'm thinking so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction or confirm my thoughts. I'm assuming that it's a 5 speed AC motor with an external run capacitor. I have 8 leads to a plug that I will hack off and wire to power and controller to switch speeds using a relay board. Is there a standard/good way to determine which leads are to the capacitor and the speed taps (so sorry if I'm butchering the language here)? Using the clip on top to orient the plug as in the picture I find the colors and resistances as below. I'm not sure if I should be thinking about this from the presumed neutral or presumed line so I'm providing both even though I know basic math could turn one to the other.

Blower is Broan Type 97021509, motor is Zhenhua Motor co Model YYx135B-2A, 120v 60 hz, input 400w, 3.1A, output 125W, 25uF 250V (ordered a titan pro run cap, 440/370v AC 25 uF model TRCF25). If this belongs in a different sub I can do that too. Thanks much.

Color (I know electricity doesn't care what the color is, that's why I'm here)

White Brown Gray
Orange Black Empty
Blue Purple Red

Ohm - white ref (is this the best way to think about this?)

n/a 0.3 14.2
18.6 7.4 n/a
100.6 61.6 29.7

Ohm - black ref

7.4 7.4 7.1
11.4 n/a n/a
93.4 54.5 22.6

My Assumptions (feel free to laugh)

Neutral Cap 1 cap 2
spd 4 hot/high spd 5
Lowest spd 1 spd 2 spd 3

I made a thing

Dog run was making too much dust on my patio so I took down the cheap green plastic fencing and made a gate. I still need to grade the dirt up to the top of the pavers and trim into the house And the existing fence line a little bit I’m not upset with how it went.

Cassette and ring wear

Can I get an opinion on this cassette and rings? I have the chain right at wear limit with my calipers and deciding if I should just do it all.
