I lived in Roanoke for 10 years way back around 1985-1995. I remember going to see a few bands in Elmwood back then, but it was always pretty small, like area and regional bands.
I just saw Dark Star Orchestra last night and I was very impressed. You Roanokers should be proud to have such a nice little spot.

Just a distraction from the reality of the current times.
