New to me machine

Need help with flat lap
I’m building a lapping table with a vertically oriented lap (horizontal spindle). I’m planning on using 10” magnetic diamond disks. Will the magnetic discs cling tightly enough to cast iron plate to hold on while vertical? Thanks, Ed
