Found amethyst for the first time today💜

Drove all the way out to the White mountains in NH, wonderful drive and easy access to the mineral area, none of the pictures are edited just good ole sunlight and zooming attachment on my IPhone, cheers!☮️

Found in a Northeast Nebraska driveway

As the title states… I found a smooth black rock in someone’s driveway. It was sticking out of the dirt and I haven’t cleaned it yet. Thanks for looking!

I'm new, here's some rocks 🛘

Found these in a rock pile my uncle bought from a quarry for landscaping kinda. Anywho, my husband and I have been rock hunting and have some AMAZING finds! I'm currently testing multiple specimens and these 3 are the ones I found today! Hope y'all like them as much as I do!

Agatized Coral 🪸

Dolomite inclusion with a greenschits host

And I'm currently working on the 3rd one that's enclosed in a white Matrix.

Looking for feedback and impressions of my rock shop

Opened around 5 months ago. Wondering what we can improve on and what fellow rockhounds think about our shop!

We specialize in hand-collected Canadian mineral specimens, with a distinct passion and focus on the highly fluorescent purple scapolite (var. Marialite) found in Gooderham, Ontario. Rather than mass-producing, we carefully prepare and release our minerals in small, thoughtful batches.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
Thank you:)

What’s in the box??!! Part 1

Come along with me on a journey to remind myself why I do not need to go rockhounding right now.

I’m going to open some totes or empty some boxes I have stuffed away so I can remember that I already have enough rocks (for now)

All found in the bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia side, by yours truly!

Mods, can we get a Fundy flair? :)

Found in Harrison County Indiana on a farm near a pond

Is this calcite? This is one of my favorite finds ever. I do think I messed up cleaning it as it looks like it’s breaking down just sitting on my desk untouched.

An opalized shell ?

I bought a jar of rocks from a thrift store and found this fossil inside. It looks normal when dry but when it gets wet, more is revealed!

What would be the best process of cleaning and polishing in order to enhance it? A series of sandpaper grits? Or should I keep it in a jar of water and just leave it alone?

Dug up this beauty while doing landscape work....

During a garden remodel, I dug this beautiful gem out of the ground. It's been cut, so it was someone's treasure at some point. Garden owners had zero interest in it, so now it's mine! It's a garnet, right?

Petrified wood?

Is this petrified wood? I found it on a beach near point arena california, it feels pretty silicated and heavy for the size.

Found on the banks of the Deerfield River in southern Vermont. It’s kind of scary

Hello, thank you for your help with this Rock. I would love to know what it is. It’s the first rock I found that scares me because it looks like it has teeth.
