Help me get this &@£%ing circular saw blade off the saw
I purchased this saw used on Gumtree. I now need to replace the blade. However - it is absolutely, resolutely, impossibly, vehemently stuck. I am working counter-clockwise to remove it.
I sprayed a bunch of WD40 on it. Nothing doing.
I have tried a hex key with a pipe on it to extend it and give me more leverage. This just causes the motor, blade and bolt to turn together.
So I jammed the blade into a block of wood to prevent it spinning, and attached vice grips to it as well. The blade stops spinning, but the bolt, the axle and the motor still turn.
Then I tried my power drill on hammer mode. Nothing.
So I poured boiling water on it. Still nothing.
I tried jamming the other end of a drill bit into one of those two little holes, hoping they're more securely attached to the motor than the bolt itself. I jimmied this with a vice grips to try to secure it. Doesn't work. Bit comes out and the motor spins.
Do I just toss it and buy a new one?
