I was applying for a second time to a job posting at Youtooz (kinda like Funko Pop but with a broader range of ip/people including more obscure stuff) and wanted to do something to stand out a bit more the second time, so I went ahead and did a lil' preliminary, unsolicited art-test concept in their style, and picked Khn since they don't have Angine de Poitrine figures yet!

Maybe I'll do Klek at some point in the future! Would y'all buy Youtooz Angine de Poitrine figures if they made them?

Spotted Lars in the balcony at last night’s show at the Teagram and was able to get a pic with him and my son. And also got to say Hi to Sebastiaaaaan! What a great show!

As requested by some folks who weren’t getting the link to work. Sébastien apparently gave a speech at NASA’s jet propulsion laboratory and we‘re all baffled. Is this how he made first contact? Have Khn and Klek decided to share some scientific knowledge with humankind? Is l’Angine’s manager secretly also a rocket scientist? We don’t know!

I think he said “But it’s top, confidential (laughs) but if you’re there ’til the end of the tour we can show you some…” (and then it cuts off)

I wish i got tickets for December.

One of the most memorable concerts this year!! Box office tickets were $37 so having a physical ticket and being here for the show was incredibly worth it trying to see if box office had released any in person. Teragram confirmed box office for night one but not night two.

The lighting is the best at the Teragram, which I know other attendees noticed the timing the lighting director was able to do around the arch and the stage lights over the band. I’m excited to see videos from back of the room, especially that red strobe to end the night on Sherpa

From seeing the KEXP video on Feb 5th to tonight, I’m very fortunate to have been able to see them. They are phenomenal and I look forward to hopefully getting the opportunity to see them again

I went in on Monday night with pretty high expectations after seeing so many posted videos. Still was blown away over what a great show this was. The sound was the best I've heard in a club in years

The crowd was awesome. Met a ton of great people standing in line and waiting for the show to start. I even ventured into the dance scrum at one point. It was the chillest mosh pit of all time. As an older guy whose slamming days are long ago gone this was nothing but smiles. The AdP crowd is the best!

Micro-Tonal Schnozz-Rock For the Win!

I made Khn and Klek. I’m really pleased with how they turned out and thought I would share.

The doll bodies are 3-D printed articulated figures. I drafted the patterns for their outfits. Khn’s hat, jumpsuit, and Klek’s tunic are cotton and Klek’s leggings are stretch cotton. Klek’s high tops are felt. Khn’s mask (save for the dollar signs; they are 3-D printed) and Klek’s ‘mouth-face’ are polymer clay. Khn’s hair and goatee are yarn; the ends are sealed with glue to prevent fraying and his hair is sewn into his hat.

I designed Klek’s head/helmet and Khn’s guitar using CAD software and 3-D printed and painted them.

I actually made two of each doll and two guitars; we’re going to Vancouver see them for the 3rd and 4th times and hoping to get a set to they guys (somehow). Fingers crossed!
