Sell me on Gladlands?

Hey y'all - after making it through entirety of D20's backlog (yes, even "Shriek Week") over the course of three years I found myself utterly defeated by the first two episodes of Gladlands and took a break, and now am a full two seasons behind going into Toylight (Three if we count "On a bus", which I haven't watched either). I'm used to the first couple of episodes being table setting, but I didn't get hooked by the end of episode two this time. I found the opening of Gladlands really low stakes and it just kinda didn't grab me. It just...felt like a single sketch stretched into 6 hours and it didn't hit for me. Convince me to give it another chance? I enjoy all the players on an individual comedic level and would love to find a reason to push past whatever is holding me back here. Seeking some positive opinions.

Sweeney Todd - alternate lyrics for non-blonde Johannas?

I seem to remember that Sondheim wrote some alternate lyrics for a production of SWEENEY TODD at east west players in Los Angeles, changing the many references to Johanna’s blonde hair so an actress of Asian descent could play the role. Has anyone ese ever used these or are these out there anywhere? I’ve always figured “Raven hair” is a natural substitute for “yellow hair”, but then I get to the wigmaker sequence and the eight million variety’s of blonde that are listed and this would require a large scale rewrite. Did Steve ever tweak these lyrics? Are they out there/performable with permission from the estate?

Current Andre and Firmin?

When I last saw the show Matthew Curiano and Jeremy Stolle were doing all performances and pulses in these tracks, but I’ve seen photos of playbills recently that indicated Matthew is equally likely to be on for the Barker or Buquet and Jeremy seems to be predominantly a phantom standby at the moment. If I were to walk into the show tomorrow; who’s actually playing the managers right now?

I have a day to kill in San Francisco. send me on an adventure.

Im a former Sf Resident who moved to San Mateo in 2020 after 13 years in the city. Nowadays If I’m in the city it’s usually for work reasons or on a date night. I unexpectedly have a day to kill in San Francisco on my own. I make it up to the city fairly regularly, but usually find myself going back to my usual haunts and hangouts. Today, I have an appointment in Rincon Hill which will likely end around 1 pm, and then I have a ticket to a concert at 8 pm in the Mission. In between - nothing on the books. I’d love to find a quiet park or coffee shop to get some work done; and I. considering going to a movie (Probably “I love boosters”) but that still leaves a lot of time so…where should I go to lunch and dinner? I’ll be public transit bound, but am willing to go anywhere and experience something new. I don’t drink, and don’t want to go any place where I’ll be dropping a major chunk of change. I’ve got an amorphous amount of time and a city I have complex feelings about to explore.

I know most of the major tourist haunts and the institutions. I love Italian food, cajun food, BBQ, Dim Sum, Poke bowls, pastries, pub faire and Mexican. I adore food trucks. I like big portions. I’ll eat anything except walnuts/cashews (i have a mild allergy) but tend towards carnivorous. I haven’t explored the city since the pandemic. What’s new? What are the classics worth revisiting? Where will I get a sandwich so good it briefly makes me loose consciousness? Where do you send your people? Give me your opinions!

Schmigadoon - changes since DC?

Just what's in the title - has the show had any major (or minor) changes in its transition from the Kennedy Center to Broadway? I understand there's a new song for Ann Harada? Any other info?
