Career change at 29 from desk job to hairstylist. Will my body suffer more than it already has?

I can’t figure out which is worse- sitting at a desk for 8+ hours or being on my feet all day doing hair?

Ive always wanted to become a hair stylist but was convinced not to when I was younger due to the strain on the body. I ended up going into accounting and now my body hates me. I feel so tired from sitting and I’ve gained more weight than I thought I would.

I’m naturally someone who loves to move around and work physical jobs. The part that concerns me about doing hair is that it’s not so much moving around but it seems like a lot of standing and upper body movements.

For those who have done both, which takes a worse toll on your body? Desk work or being a hairstylist?

Completing accounting courses in one term?

I have a Marketing degree from WGU so all but 25% of my courses transferred for me to start the Bachelor's in Accounting. With my marketing degree, I was able to progress pretty quickly. I know accounting will be a lot harder, so how realistic is it to get 9 accounting courses in 6 months?

Just curious if anyone here has some insight on that! TIA!

Will working at a car dealership help me in any way?

I have been slowly working on my accounting degree. I’m almost 30 and my only experience is in customer service or retail. I got a job as a clerk doing AP and AR at a car dealership which I’m grateful for because it took me 7 months to find a job even remotely relevant to what I’m studying. I don’t mind the job so far, but I’ve been consistently getting trained to do harder and harder tasks that weren’t really part of the job description. The car industry seems somewhat niche in the accounting world due to titles and DMV involvement. I’m really curious if this is going to give me any valuable experience for becoming an accountant? I am not qualified enough to work as a staff accountant yet but will this help get me there? It’s super underpaid for how much they expect from me and just don’t know if I should keep looking for something else. If I wasn’t trying to become a CPA i wouldn’t mind staying in the car industry. But our controller is not a cpa so this experience wouldn’t count towards that. I have about a 7 months of my degree left.

34yr old male with naturally high testosterone levels. Concerning?

My husband never goes to the doctor, but I finally convinced him to. So we have no previous labs to compare to. We’re trying to have a baby so we just got curious about his testosterone levels and he requested bloodwork for it alongside routine bloodwork not thinking anything of it.

His levels came back at 875 total test. It was a little shocking because he doesn’t take any trt or supplements. He climbs mountains for a living and has a very active lifestyle but his diet isn’t the best. He’s not as lean as he’d like to be and he doesn’t lift weights often. While he is super active in a cardio way, I wasn’t sure if men had to specifically lift a lot to have levels this high. He does have a lot of strength just from work though. He just doesn’t look like your traditionally ripped bodybuilder with high T. He also has no acne and a full head of hair ie no hair loss or anything you’d expect from T levels being too high.

After typing that I realize how lucky my husband may be, but I am a bit concerned that this level is too high for his age and we should investigate something else.

Any insight is appreciated!

Resources/places for autistic adults to make friends?

I’m a 28F and your pretty typical Bend person, other than the fact that I have a bit of autism. I’m super into cycling and skiing so I’ve made friends doing those things, but I’ve yet to connect deeply with anyone in this town for the last 7 years I’ve been here. When I think I’m getting close to someone, they pull away after a couple years. It’s getting pretty lonely. My autism is “mild” so I appear pretty normal until people get to know me more and realize I’m a bit socially awkward and goofy.

Is there hope for me here? I can’t move away because I’m married and my husbands whole life/career is here. I do love it here but I just wish I had some close girlfriends. Any advice? Or can anyone relate at least?

I’m new to gardening and planted this Jacob’s ladder last year. It’s much bigger now- what to expect?

This is in 6b soil- very dry climate and very dry soil but I do water it every day. I didn’t plant it in a super shaded area. It gets quite a big of sun. I’m honestly shocked it’s thriving like this. It was super tiny last year when I planted it, I wish I had a photo to compare. I have another one in more shade that is not growing nearly as fast or flowering. I love how this plant looks, but I have no idea what to expect in the future? How big does it get? Does it spread? When I look up Jacob’s ladder online, I see plants that look pretty different than this one.

Considering divorce due to ADHD after 8 months of marriage

My husband 33M and I 28F have been together for over 5 years. He has severe ADHD that is untreated and will likely never be treated. He forgets important things all the time, loses things, seems disinterested in me sometimes, and gets upset with me for constantly nagging him about these things. He misses doctors appointments, has to be reminded about chores, and doesn't take care of the dog unless I ask him to. He travels multiple times a month for work and my happiest days are when he's gone. House is clean, mind is clear, I'm not micromanaging another adult.

These things are killing all the attraction I had towards him. I find myself fantasizing about a (nonspecific) man who is punctual, attentive, and responsible. At 28, those are the sexiest things to me. I have told him this, but he makes excuses about his ADHD.

I get it- I have severe anxiety, depression and ADHD. But I manage them through a lot of hard work daily. It doesn't even seem like he tries. All of attention goes towards work, his hobbies, and doing fun things/dates with me. When we do things together, it's super fun and amazing. But when it comes to everyday mundane things, we clash so much in how we approach life. Even finances are becoming a problem because he doesn't want to pay his student loans off.

I feel dumb for getting married. I was too scared to leave before the wedding. I don't know how to navigate this. I want kids. but I have to remind him when I ovulate about a million times in a week. I have to remind him that we need to try to get pregnant. I have to remind him to get a check up before we start trying. If I never mentioned kids, he's probably never bring up until I turn 35.

I know he loves me a lot, but he can't love me the way I need to be loved. He gets so upset when I complain about these things and says how I'm too negative all the time. This is because every day I'm reminding or asking if something has been done. When the answer is "no", I get upset. When I get upset, it's in a calm way. I calmly say how it's affecting me. That doesn't change the reaction.

Am I so negative for feeling this way or is he gaslighting me?

▲ 3 r/OCD

Our friends stayed at our house for 5 months from Dec-April. We bought the house brand new two years ago and tbh that was really satisfying to my ocd because we are the only ones that ever lived in it and it was always our “germs” in the house.

After coming back home, I am feeling so wrong and grossed out by my house knowing other people were cooking, eating, sleeping, using the restroom in this house in place of us. It feels dirty even though I paid a cleaner $900 to deep clean before we moved back in. It even slightly smells different (not bad but just like other people were here) and that’s stressing me out.

They also ended up slightly damaging our fridge and scratching our oven. They never acknowledged it. My husband doesn’t want to say anything because they are still functioning fine and it’s just cosmetic. But I’m so upset about this. It’s making my anxiety run wild because I always keep my appliances spotless and scratch free. I was hoping to come home to things being exactly the same and it just doesn’t feel that way due to random little things that are off.

I don’t know how to deal with this. I don’t know what’s normal wear and tear from tenants and what’s actually my OCD.

Just needed to vent but would also love some words of wisdom. My husband always thinks I overreact so i never know if he’s always right or he’s dismissive.
