Honest Hybrid questions, longevity & repairability?

A lot of love hate, I’m not thrilled about the choice to use CVTs, but I’m reading Hondas hybrids as impressive! I really like the fact you get extra HP because your electric and gas motors work together. And I LOVE that the hybrid power trains DONT use a turbo, improving longevity

Eyeballing a CRV Hybrid for my wife and want to ask, what happens at 100k miles? 250k miles? I pride myself on high mileage, my 2012 Acura TL has 250k miles and wife’s HRV is 150k miles.

Teslas long term are terrible, overpriced batteries that no ordinary mechanic can install. Reduced range at 100k miles. Are Honda Hybrid batteries affordable enough to replace if the range goes way down? What can I expect at 250k miles?

What are y'all doin to celebrate a new job?? Some Good Karma?

I see FIRSTHAND how bad it is, I'm about to be jobless in 6 weeks and I'm trying to hold it together praying for a miracle and networking my ASS off.

TRYNA to get ideas. If somehow a miracle happens, the 1st thing im doing is going to church, havent seen the big guy in months and I'm probably overdue. THEN I was gonna find SOME WAY to VOLUNTEER and help people in my area with finding a job. Where I'm located, its not so easy to find a job. I just need some good deeds for some good Karma after this crapshow we're all going thru.

Is the tech job market REALLY bad now or is it just me?? Professional help??

I'm losing my job in 6 weeks. 11 years in the IT industry with an MBA and AWS/automation experience and out of the few HUNDRED applications Ive sent out the last few months, haven't gotten a 1st round interview. My wife & I are relatively new to the area so I can't really compare what it was like a few years ago. Starting to get desperate since my wife can't pay our mortgage alone.

Any recruiters or hiring managers out there who can just give me BLUNT advice? I've redone my resume hundreds of times and last year I was ATLEAST getting a 1st round interviews

Need resume help w 10yr IT, starting to get desperate

https://imgur.com/a/O7JlI7E

My contract gig is up in 7 weeks w no renewal due to no budget. After rage applying the last 2 weeks with not even a callback, I went back to the Drawing Board! Took y'alls advice and condensed my resume from 3 pages, tried to make it 1 but I wanted to keep my 10 years IT experience to look qualified.

REALLY wanted to include my Freelancing stuff but not sure if its doing more harm then good. Some here suggested removing the Skills section as well. Not sure what else I should be doing but I may look to getting the RHCSA cert as I LOVE being in the Linux realm

I sent close to 5,000 applications last year with not much luck until I landed the current contract job thats ending. So just trying to find something before my last day is up.

Have an internal interview I'm trying to prepare for & created a dummy Azure account with the $200 free credits. From what I gathered online, Azure wont let me use any of these cheap B1 VM sizes, is capacity REALLY that bad? Should I be doing this around 2AM?? or is there a setting I can override in my subscription? Moneys kinda tight and the only thing really visible is for a $60 VM

My current contract gig is ending in 2 months and applying to jobs within this week have been not promising. JUST CURIOUS what have been your last resort jobs with AWS experience? Have you had to hit retail or helpdesk? I just need ideas on a backup plan if nothing comes through in time, I REFUSE to lose the house we worked SO HARD to get.

I have 10 years experience, an MBA, and AWS cloud automation experience. I'm already burnt out working an overnight security job making $18/hr on the weekends. Our mortgage is a reasonable $2,600/mo and massive credit card debt, idk if helpdesk will even be an option based on where I am but I am exploring as many options as I can and wanted to see what side hustles you guys have taken on to keep the roof over your heads? I've also been making $150/mo on youtube but cant seem to break that barrier. Has retail worked out for you guys??

Genuinely curious, I know some die hard TiVo fans who still refuse to go anywhere else. I gotta imagine there has to be a HUGE pushback, emailing the CEO etc, And i get it, goes nowhere. but I just really gotta wonder

Pretty much confirmed from a coworker My IT contract job is ending in 2 months with no renewal and I started panic mass applying.

Coworker saw they posted a Full time permanent job similar to what I’m doing and suggested I should apply. Reporting to the same boss I work under now and he generally likes me. But he hasn’t mentioned to me about that job posting.

I’m already assuming the worst and just applied EVERYWHERE, but the job market is so cooked I’m thinking about confronting the guy about it. I don’t really have much to lose but idk how to bring it up without coming off as an asshole.

This job is 20 minutes from home, most of the jobs near me are over 2 hours away. I REALLY want to stay working for this company but idk what else I can do but assume the worst
