[HIRING] Java Software Engineers (1 tech lead, 1 mid-senior) - downtown Raleigh (hybrid schedule) - fintech company - $150k-$200k

Happy Monday! We've partnered with a growing fintech company opening a new office in Raleigh; they're building out their software engineering team in the area and are seeking 2 Java software engineers: a mid/senior-level SWE and a Tech Lead. These positions would focus on feature building for a cloud-based SaaS product in Java / Spring Boot with React / Typescript.

  • Requirements: Candidates must have 5-7+ years' professional experience in software engineering, experience across the full stack, and experience in modern development frameworks. The Tech Lead must have expertise in Spring Boot specifically; this is less imperative for the IC role (although you still must be comfortable working in Java). The Tech Lead must have held tech lead responsibilities before (it's fine if it wasn't part of your job title). A relevant degree is preferred but not required. Prior fintech experience is a big plus, especially in the loans or distributed ledger space.

  • Schedule details: 40-hour work week during M-F, standard business hours (~8am - ~5pm)

  • Location requirement: Candidates must be within regular commutable distance to downtown Raleigh. These roles have a fixed hybrid schedule (Tues-Thurs onsite in downtown Raleigh, Mon & Fri are remote).

  • Work details: These roles are direct-hire salaried positions with benefits. Salary depends on experience and credentials; salary bands are $150k-$180k for the regular SWE and $170k-$200k for the tech lead.

Application instructions: If you have any questions or would like to apply, send me a chat and I will respond with my email address so you can send a resume!

Where is the surplus of money in serving/bartending in the area?

Hi!
I just moved to the area looking for employment. I am a 21 yr old female and I have been in the industry since I was 15, serving/bartending for the last 2 years.

Given the economy, ive spent the last year working restaurants where the clientele didn’t tip very well, and the volume of patrons in the restaurant did not make up for it. Thus, I am asking you, so I don’t continue to work for unprofitable restaurants.

I am strictly asking about where is the biggest potential for making money in the area. I am seriously indifferent to the type of restaurant as I have a lot of different experience, so high end, breakfast, clubs/bars, lunch turn-and-burn, ect. I am just curious where is the biggest volume in the area.

I want to work hard and save as much money as possible, so any information helps. Be straight up please, name of the restaurant and roughly how much you think the servers/bartenders make. I appreciate it! Thank you so much!

Also, if anyone can speak to the gentlemen’s and strip clubs here? I know being a waitress or bartender in a club you stereotypically make the most money. Does anyone have any experience? (I don’t want to strip btw)

Been looking for roughly 2 years now.

Hey guys! I’ve been looking for my next job going on nearly two years now since my business had to shut down and I need to find my next role. I think the problem is that my experience is fairly broad, I was in pharma for about 17 years working in product development, process dev, etc. and opened a distillery that I ran for roughly 5 years before it closed. So lots of management and strategy experience etc, but I just can’t seem to get anywhere. I stopped counting how many applications I’ve sent out when I went above 500. It’s like a black hole and I can’t seem to figure out what to change. If anyone hears of anything out there in the operations, pharma, etc space I’d love to hear about it. Or just any sort of ideas that I just may not of thought of yet.

[Hiring – RDU] AM Host | 4AM–12PM | $13/hr + ~$50–$100 tips/shift

I’m the GM of Crawford’s Genuine inside RDU Airport and I’m looking for a reliable AM host to join our team.
Schedule: 4:00 AM–12:00 PM

Pay: $13/hr + tips

Typical tips: roughly $50–$100 per shift, depending on business

This is a high-volume airport restaurant, so the earning potential can be considerably better than what you might expect from a traditional host position. We typically do around $15K–$25K in daily sales, and Monday–Friday are generally our busiest days.

I’m primarily looking for someone who is reliable, honest, friendly, and shows up ready to work. I can teach systems and procedures. Reliability and attitude are much harder to teach.

There’s also room to grow. If you perform well and want to learn, I’m happy to develop people toward serving, bartending, supervisory, and eventually management opportunities.

A few RDU-specific requirements:
You need reliable transportation. 4 AM means 4 AM.
Airport employment requires badging and a background check.
You’ll need two acceptable forms of ID for badging.
Badging normally takes around 10–14 days when paperwork is in order.
Relevant experience is preferred, or 2+ years of restaurant experience.
Spanish proficiency is highly valued.
We work hard, help each other, make our money, and go home. I’m looking for someone who wants to be part of that kind of team.
If interested, DM me with your name, availability, relevant experience, resume (if available) and a little about yourself.

Raleigh, I could use your help finding my next opportunity! — Procurement/Sourcing

Hey everyone! I’m hoping the Raleigh Reddit community can help me out.

I’m currently living in Southern Indiana, but my fiancée lives in Raleigh, and I’m planning to relocate to the Triangle this year. My lease is up in November, and I’ve been actively applying to procurement/sourcing positions in the area since May.

The job search has been tougher than I expected, so I figured it was time to reach out to the people who actually live and work in the Raleigh area.

A little about me:
🎓 B.S. in Supply Chain Management — University of Tennessee, Knoxville
🏢 3+ years with International Paper
My career progression at IP has been:
2023–2024: Global Sourcing Associate
⬇️
2024–2025: Storeroom Supervisor
⬇️
2025–Present: Purchasing Manager

I’ve been fortunate to take on increasing responsibility throughout my time at International Paper, and I’m now looking to bring that experience to a new company in the Triangle.

I’m primarily interested in:
• Procurement / Purchasing
• Strategic Sourcing
• Supplier Management
• Contract Management
• Category Management
• Buyer / Senior Buyer roles
• Procurement Manager roles
Procurement or contract consulting

I’m open to different industries and would consider opportunities throughout Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Morrisville, Apex, and the surrounding Triangle area.

If you work in procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, technology, pharmaceuticals, construction, or really any industry that has a strong procurement function, I’d love to hear from you.

If you know of a company hiring, have a referral you’d be willing to make, know a recruiter I should talk to, or even just have advice for someone trying to break into the Raleigh job market from out of state, I’d genuinely appreciate it.

I’m happy to send my resume or connect directly.

Thanks, Raleigh! Hopefully I’ll be joining you all soon. 🤞

How far out to apply to lab jobs if I’m looking to start (and move) in May

Currently living in Boston, it looks like we will be moving here to start a family (🤞). At the soonest we would like to move mid March if there isn’t a sign on bonus so we actaully get our bonus, but we would prefer around May or June. How far out should we be applying, do jobs here tend to hire early? And can anyone connect us with any recruiters? We figured small CRO’s might be our best bet to start in the areas.

Talent Acquisition in Durham/Triangle

After 18 years at the same Fortune 10 company and just 7 weeks before we were to close on our first home, my husband was laid off.

We signed the contract months ago for this new build, picked out all the design elements, brought his credit score up, and were just about to start packing when this happened. The builders have given us until August 28th for him to find comparable employment.

We are doing everything legally permissible and utilizing every resource. But if there’s one community that’s known for winning right at the buzzer - it’s us. And so, I come to our community. If you know anyone in tech talent acquisition, are in the field and have advice and/or leads, please send me a DM.

I will say he’s a certified Agile SAFe Scrum Master and Salesforce Administrator. Please DM if you’d like his LinkedIn info!

I think my husband may be mortified that I’m posting here but, if we lose this opportunity, I want to know we gave it our all.

Hi guys! This is my first time posting in this community but I’ve lived in Charlotte for the past 16 years. I trying to find labor within Charlotte or on the outskirts. I am looking for a crew of helpers to work in a distribution center or factory setting, think machine operators or forklift driving. Skills are definitely considered and compensated accordingly. The only condition is that I need a full crew, so a minimum of 5 people, no single personnel please.

Feel free to DM me here or email me at charlotteworkopportunity@gmail.com for more information and info. Then we can take the conversation on the phone, but for now I don’t want to be bombarded so that’s why I created the email address.

I am happy to give back to the city that gave me so much!

Looking for an entry level morning job for my girlfriend

I got a job down here I start at the end of the month. My girlfriend is coming with me and she’s worried about finding a job. She has stated that a coffee shop gig or a breakfast place would be fun. As she has worked that last 5 years in food service. Preferably with a staff that’s tight knit. Hoping she can make some friends down here while I’m busy working long hours. Doesn’t have to be food service just something morning and sociable. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.

EDIT: We’ll be staying in Briar Creek so anywhere within 15-20 minutes preferred!
