What’s next for Genao, Ingle, Ralphy?

We have 3 very promising prospects and no where to put them.

Let’s get Ralphy out the way first. I don’t see a path to him being on the roster this year at all. Everything he does at Triple A is gearing him up to be on the team next year.

Genao in a relatively small sample size (14 games) at triple A is showing he’s the real deal. .304/.350/.571/.921. 17 hits in 24 games, w 3 HR. With Rocchio having a breakout season where does the leave the future for Genao? In my opinion probably another guy that won’t see the bigs until next season. Potential September call up.

The most interesting case of the bunch is Cooper Ingle who is putting up video game numbers in Columbus. .363/.528/.675/1.203, with more walks than strikeouts. Barry Bonds type line w/ a higher average. The thing w Ingle is he needs to develop behind the plate if he’s gonna play there at the major league level. Especially mid season when he hasn’t had a lot of work with our staff. However the bat deserves to be up here. Is he a potential trade candidate? Will we move someone at the deadline to make room for him? It’s hard to let a guy w these numbers rot in triple A for a full season.

Curious to your thoughts w each player? More particularly Genao and Ingle.

Is this the year the Guardians finally make the trade for Taylor Ward?

After being linked to him for the past 3 years. Taylor Ward is on an expiring deal with the disappointing Orioles. 32 years old, currently leading the AL in walks and doubles.

Things to note:
- .265/.425/.374/.799, OPS+ 131, more walks than strikeouts, 1.3 WAR.
- 100th percentile in BB%, and Chase%.
- 95th percentile in Squared Up%, and 91st percentile in whiff percentage.
- As a baserunner and fielder he is posting negative run value.
- 1 year, 12 million contract
- 1 HR on the season

Given our payroll I think adding his contract wouldn’t be out of our reach. We are a team looking for the right handed bat that can play a corner outfield spot. Though this may take at bats away from Angel who’s busted onto the scene this season. If we were to add him I think the odd man out would be actually be David Fry. Ward would get those DH at bats. Manzardo and Rhys alternating at first, pinch hitting in spots. Not to mention we also have Cooper Ingle putting up insane numbers as a hitter at Triple A.

Not sure what the cost would be for Ward. I’m sure he’ll be a highly sought after player if the O’s decide to sell even with the dip in power numbers.

I think the front office has a better outlook on this current roster than we’ve had in years past. We’ll see with the willingness to make moves. With that being said, this may be one season too early where we decide to make those moves given the amount of debuts made this season, and the continuation of key players continuing their breakout seasons.

Last note, we may be more willing to acquire a bullpen arm rather than a bat at this current junction.

Thoughts? Anything you agree with or disagree with me on? Let me know, I’d love to know if I’m missing something or if you have a different opinion.

Delauter hit like .600 last week and he isn’t playing today? I mean I’m all for rest days but my god, why change anything? He did the same thing w Manzardo last season. He’d hit a home run and get pinch hit for Fry or hit 2 and have the night off next day. I’m trying to figure out what he’s doing with this.

Best donut Ive had in a long time. Visiting from Cleveland and this was recommended and it was phenomenal. The crunch on the blueberry old fashion was 10/10. Girlfriend loved their hash browns. Was a little skeptical to try another Reddit recommendation after we went to Lou Manatis but this was great. Thanks! Going to Wrigley today so if you have any ballpark food recs lmk.
