I am going to attempt running a fiber line in my flat but want to purchase a long slim ethernet lead as a backup.
ideally I would trace this around my skirting board and a dab of glue ever so often to hold it in place.
I am struggling to find anything slimrun at 30m.
any ideas?
I got Caravan Sandwitch on Epic for free the other day and added it to Playnite.
however when I launch it my Steam Controller does not work.
I had a spare 8bit do controller which I plugged in instead and it worked so it's definitely a steam input issue.
is there a way of getting this to work?
I added it to steam as a non steam game but it won't let me launch and says it's unlicenced.
I have ordered some SC fiber from Ali express and some corresponding 1G SFP modules.
I didn't go with 10G because I got some old switches for free from work and they are only 1G...at some point I will look to upgrade to 10G though.
anyway, I am quite nervous about the durability of this fiber as it's the very thin invisible stuff, the plan is to tape it down in place and make sure it works and then go round and glue it down or clear silicone sealant it.
however I am now wondering if I should instead run it inside some very slim trunking and then at each end actually terminate into some keystone back boxes.
it will all be "on top" of the wall as my walls are solid plaster and there's virtually no void.
just gathering thoughts and seeing what other people think who might have done this already.
EDIT: Solved in case anyone comes across this.
Not a moonlight issue but is due to the fact the Steam Controller doesn't support X input and requires whatever you plug it in to to be running Steam (Steam Input).
Luckily I was close enough to my PC so I just plugged the puck in there for now.

I am running the Moonlight app on my Sony TV (BRAVIA 4K VH2).
I was previously using an 8bitdo Wireless Pro controller which worked fine.
However the steam controller doesn't work correctly, analogue sticks don't work and other button presses aren't registered.
I am wondering if I am on an old version of the Moonlight app which might not support it properly but I can't see how to check my version number.
Any ideas?
We use Datto RMM and the component which silently installs Sophos endpoint has stopped working.
when I check the logs it's failing to download the .exe if I grab just the powershell invoke web request and run that on its own it also fails to grab an exe.
when I visit the URL manually I get an empty site with a 400 response.
I logged this with Datto but they closed it and said it's a sophos issue.
any ideas?
I am streaming via a steam deck, when I press the Xbox button (or equivalent) it opens the menu locally on my steam deck and not the menu on Steam BP on the remote PC.
I want to open that menu so I can shut down the remote PC and then sleep my deck.
I must be missing something obvious but I don't know the shortcut and googling is giving me unrelated results.
I bought this controller some time ago for use with my Steam Deck while docked.
I didn't think much of it at the time but I now realise I must have purchased a version of the controller without the dongle as it works over BT also.
I can't for the life of me find how to purchase this dongle (I've emailed support).
just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same and has a link, the dongles on their site seem to be BT dongles, unless I am being very blind indeed.
I've only just started with Moonlight/Sunshine but loving it so far.
Ratchet and Clank seems to always get hung up on launch and I have to go to my PC and click the window for it to resume the intro movies.
what's causing this and can it be fixed?
Unless I am missing an option here it seems impossible to view and play playlists via plexamp on AA.
Just wondering if anyone else has this issue and/or if it can be fixed or added?
I have been diagnosing this issue for a few weeks now and still a bit stumped.
Initially the issue became apparent because I had a simple HA Automation setup that would tell me when HA was rebooting and when it had restarted. I started getting random notifications throughout the day that it was starting up.
Fix common problems would also occassioanlly tell me I had Machine Check Exception Events.
Claude wrote me a script to monitor for these events specifically and send me a discord notification just so I could be more aware of their exact rate.
It seem I get around 4-5 a day, additionally HA will crash and reboot maybe once or twice a day.
I updated and reset BIOS back to factory - no change (maybe slightly less frequent).
I also ran Memtest (no issues)
I also swapped RAM out and ran on 2 sticks and then swapped to the other 2 (still happened).
At this point its looking like hardware but I've honestly no clue without starting to swap out different parts of my server.
I did raise a ticket with Unraid support who were helpful but overall it did not seem like an OS bug so there was not much further I could go with them.
Has anyone else had these before and how can I track down the cause?
I recently noticed EAC3 giving me hassle when playing back in Chrome or the Plex app on Windows.
Playing via my TV is fine as it was able to direct play.
Checking Tautullli I can see it is attempting to transcode it to AAC, checking the logs I can see the following entries.
I have restarted the container and ensured its up to date, not quite sure what else to try, AI has suggested some bits but I dont want to go ruining it if its a simple fix.
Any ideas?
