Estate sale bowl 3 month update.

It took a 2 months for the water to stabilize and had many plant stems decompose initially. Once the plants started showing new growth I added a small group of orange cherry shrimp and 2 Snow White amanos that have settled in nicely. The bladder snails started to get a bit out of control so I added an assassin snail last week.

6 Month Opae Ula Jar Timelapse

I threw together this time lapse of all the photos I’ve taken of my Opae Ula jar since I started it 6 months ago. Shrimp were added about 1/3 of the way in along with a piece of macro algae from my local shops tank. The original algae/Chaeto I added melted but new patches came up spontaneously after.

Should I buy a 2026 or wait for a 2027?

I have a 2021 Sierra SLT with the 5.3L + 8 speed. I am at 90,000 miles and had 2 lifter repairs and other unknown misfiring while I’ve owned it for which GM extended my warranty to 100,000 miles. I do not want to keep this truck past that warranty. I test drove a Denali with the 6.2 today which I liked but wondering if it’s worth waiting until later this year for the new refresh. Anyone have an opinion on this? I just want a sierra that’s gonna last me 8-10 years to 150k+ with no drama.

Fixed bar strap advice

I recently bought this vintage Vetta I love and want to find the right strap for it. I purchased 2 custom 19mm Veblenist straps with quick release spring bars only to realize when they arrived the Vetta has fixed bars :(. Because they were custom, I can’t return them and Veblenist has been slow to respond about a custom pass through option. They do offer a fixed bar solution but they use a screw mechanism that looks very bulky for such a thin vintage watch. I really love the dark brown alligator and wondering if anyone here knows a matching quality alternative that I could have stitched onto the fixed bars or better yet if someone is local to Chicago and can install it in person. Thank you for your help.

Update: Veblenist responded and can help customize it properly. Thanks for your replies.

I honestly did not think this would work this well

I started this mini pond about a month ago with an old tub I had sitting on the side of my house and some bladder snails from my Walstad bowl inside. As it got warmer the last few weeks I added the grasses, water lily and more floaters and Rotala cuttings from inside. Yesterday I added some cloud minnows which seem to be schooling and hunting larvae already. There’s a lot of algae and pearling on the plants so thinking it’s pretty healthy. Excited to see how it evolves this summer.
