Hi everyone, I’m a FTM and my disability/paid family time is just about up. I’ve been out of work since 4/10. Unfortunately, once my time is up I can’t afford not to go back to work and I don’t think we can really afford a nanny either.
That being said I have to send my baby to daycare, she’s going to be 5 months old when she goes. The thought of her going to daycare is making me feel like a failure. Especially the more I read what other people have to say about it… I see SO many stay at home parents, people with a nanny, etc. It feels like a topic that everyone is extremely opinionated on and judgmental about… I’ve never felt like daycare was going to be an issue and I don’t judge anyone for it! I went to daycare and basically everyone I knew went as well and it was always fun. I don’t feel like I personally missed out on anything by not being home 24/7. I even feel at times like it will be good for her with building her immune system, interacting with people other than her family, I don’t know. Plus I work directly across the street from the daycare and the people over there say it’s encourage for parents to pop in and be part of the day so I’m not worried about her safety or anything at this point. Maybe I’m just having mom guilt.
Assuming people in here have sent their babies to daycare can you guys give me some reassurance that I’m not a failure of a mother for this? If possible lol
Hi guys, my daughter is going to be three months next week and she still really, really prefers contact naps. I don’t mind, I love this little girl but I’ve been sitting in my couch for 6+ hours a day for 12 weeks.
I’ve been working on trying to get her at least one nap in her crib per day, she was doing well, we had a couple that went over 1.5 hours but this week she has absolutely wanted NOTHING to do with the crib. I put her in there sleeping (that’s what’s always worked) but now the second the hair on her head touches the mattress she starts crying. If she does fall asleep it’s for about 20 minutes and then she’s wide awake. She sleeps all night in her bassinet which is great. She will not nap in the bassinet either.
I’m starting to feel guilty that maybe I’ve created this bad habit of letting her have all of her naps with me and her dad but at the end of the day I just want her to have nice, long naps. Can I create bad habits this early? Will she grow out of wanting contact naps only? Could this be some sort of sleep regression?
You guys, I was changing my infants diaper and some of the poop hit me in the lip. I don’t know how. I don’t know why but it did and I’m stressed. I immediately washed my face but of course I can’t stop thinking I’m going to get sick from the incident 😓
really cranking her neck to watch!
Hi guys, so my girl is a month old today (yay) and to preface this, I do not expect her to be sleeping through the night or even for too many hours at a time. The past few nights though she’s woken up every hour on the hour or less! That can’t be good for either one of us. Anyway, during the day she’ll try and eat anywhere from 2-4/5oz every 2-3 hours but at night she’s only eating about 1-1.5 MAYBE 2 if I’m lucky. What I was wondering is you guys notice this in your babies where they eat less at night? And if so do you just go with their flow or do you have any tips to get them to eat more at night? I feel like maybe if she ate a bit more per feed maybe we could make it at least 2-3 hours in between? Lol
I don’t know, thanks in advance!!!
