Moved to the UK on January 2023 on a SWV, switched to GTV in October 2025

No priority.

Biometrics submitted on February 27th

Application approved: August 19th

My application was pretty straightforward (I think): same employer, UK degree, etc.

My experience seems to corroborate the experience of others: via GTV, it takes the whole 6 months (so, do priority if you can).

I have one question though: my dependents will be able to apply to ILR in January 2028. Right now, they have to renew their visa - there is no option to renew for two years, they only have the 3-year option: is my understanding correct?

I have been on a swv for 3 years, then a couple of months on gtv (exceptional talent), and then I have applied to ILR. My application is pretty straightforward (or so I think): same employer, no absences other than holidays and short work trips (3 or 4 days max, mostly in European countries and a couple of times in the US), I own a house. However, I read that many here have taken a minimalist approach in the documents included, while in my case I have included all payslips, all p60, all bank statements, everything. I have not done priority (very stupid) and it has been 5 months today. My fear is that I overdid it. Is it a stupid concern?

I have a bit of a convoluted question

I was wondering what is your opinion of ostirus/osirus vst. I have an old virus c that is a bit unstable (audio is often dead, midi seems to work well, I have a long thread in this group about it), so I was thinking to use osirus (via cubase) - in this way,I will also be able to access the sounds of a and b viruses. Can I use my virus desktop as an external control for osirus (maybe not ostirus) and have a nearly identical experience as I were using a real access virus?

I have been 3 years on SWV, and since January on GTV. I cannot find anywhere update on my application,nor something saying explicitly i have applied to it. I only have the email, and something on my immigration account saying that I have applied to skmething. Is there any way to get an ubderstanding of where the process is?

I'm seeking help with my Access Virus C. The story is long.

I stopped using it in 2016 (life....), and then turned it on again in 2025. Battery was dead (so banks A & B lost), no sound, slow transitions between patches. Power unstable.

I found a person in London that seemed to have a good track record of dealing with Access Virus synths. This is, in his words, what was done: "First I changed a few capacitors in the powersupply to enable it to start everytime. Otherwise it might corrupt the new firmware like it did the old one. Once I was satisfied it was starting properly I read the am09 chip which contains the firmware and compared it to the current firmware file I have. Unsurprisingly the beginning was scrambled so I “differenced” the beginning against the current firmware file and concatenated the difference. "

The synth played ok for a couple of weeks, and then started not turning on, until it was dead. The guy ghosted me. So I found another person, much more reliable. This is what he did: he changed all capacitors, new switch, etc.. Quite radical, as everything was gone south.

However, the person does not touch software, he only deals with hardware.

Now, power supply seemed fine. However, no sounds and slow transitions between patches. So I reinstalled the firmware again (version 6, via Bome SendSx). Nothing. After I have reinstalled it, now sometimes it turns on, but the display does not. I tried to reinstall it in chunks, then again as a single file, both parts. Again slow transitions, no sound. It does not receive data when I try to upload the original a & b banks. I'm not sure what to do. I spent quite a lot, but I really want to save it, because the sound is so cool. Maybe I should buy another one? Bu who knows in which conditions an access virus c might be these days...

any thoughts?
