Added a bracelet to the collection to preserve the long term integrity of the leather, gives it a much more premium look but I do miss the low key vibe of a leather strap.
The red really stands out under the sun, and tones down indoors.
I have a bit of a buyer's regret on the bracelet as it uses a butterfly clasp with no opportunity for microadjust, thought it would be table stakes at this price level. Oh well.
Couldn't justify paying over 1000 for a CWC Diver quartz, and found a $60 WD1980 to have almost every feature (minus the 300M water resistance and other minute details), including 100M WR (still need to test it), applied logo on the crown, and a 120 unidirectional bezel that has a beautiful blue lume.
It wears pretty much to a similar scale and runs on the SAME quartz movement as the real thing. Tough to compete against.
WR is holding so far (through two pool adventures), and so far pretty happy with it despite the seconds hand not aligning perfectly.
I'm supporting France in the World Cup this year, so threw the MC moonphase onto a matching NATO. The wife said it made the watch look cheap and I get where she's coming from, but...the red matches the dial though! What do you guys think? 😂
Had the piece installed on a rubber strap for the longest time, but thought it was a good time to put it back on the bracelet for the summer. Just love how the green sunburst shows up on the dial.
