Correct ruling?
Team 1 was on the penalty kill when a delayed penalty against them was called. Team 2 scored before Team 1 gained possession. The first penalty had ~30 seconds remaining.
The refs released the player from the box and put the second offender in the box for a full 2 minutes. I think this was the correct call but there was some confusion and conversation to figure it out. Is this how it should be handled? Seems like this is not unheard of and settled, but somewhat rare case for rec league refs.
Specific Charger?
Based in US. For the life of my S25 (~8months) and for the entire life of my s21, I used almost exclusively an apple computer charging brick (usb-c to usb-c). Three days ago the s25 abruptly stopped charging on it. I had to cut over to a smaller brick with a usb-a to usb-c connection.
I tried multiple apple computer bricks and usb-c to usb-c cables. rebooted phone. no response from the phone on any of them.
did samsung push an update that nerfs certain chargers? any ideas on how to fix? I like those chargers because they charge FAST
My boat, not my tow job
Trailer axle cracked while towing. This is what TowboatUS sent. 5k lbs of weight wayyyy behind the rear axle of the flatbed. About 2 inches of the inside of each tire was actually on the flatbed. Guy towed it 55 miles, said the front wheels of the truck came off the ground a couple of times.
Kind of a rock and a hard place situation for me, but I couldn't believe this is what was sent and that the tow service accepted the job. While it was a successful tow, I didn't love the situation.
Oregon Inlet
The majority of times that I've seen Oregon Inlet, it has been terrifying. But I have seen it calm at times too. I've never had the guts to cross the bar or even go past the bridge in my 19ft bay boat with a 150hp.
I've seen some folks do it on calm days in similar boats tho.

I feel like I can judge whether going out is safe for my little boat. What I'm more concerned about are conditions for returning. I don't want to go fish for a few hours only to find conditions have significantly changed and it is unsafe to return. What criteria (wind direction/speed, tide direction/intensity, etc) should I look at to gauge return conditions before going past the bar? Should I just not attempt in this boat? I think this is probably the answer but I wanted to get opinions from some locals.
Eligible expenses for kids
I'm divorced. Ex covers kids for Healthcare, but we both cover them for dental and vision. The kids are listed as dependents on my employer's benefits portal, but not for health benefits.

Ex-wife claimed kids for taxes in 2025, I will for 2026. Can I use FSA for their co-pays when the service is covered by insurance through their mom? What criteria should I consider when making the determination?
4th grader struggles
I'm at a bit of a loss on how to help my child. She can do multiplication when given a numeric problem but doesnt understand the concept of multiplication.
For example, when asked how many inches are in 7 feet, she can articulate there are 12 inches in a foot but guesses at the operation to solve the problem. I've drawn diagrams, gone through brute force addition of 12 7 times, explained that you have 7 groups of 12...If I write 12 * 7 on a sheet of paper, she can solve it, but she can't understand WHY that works.
My work is heavily math-based and this stuff is just intuitive to me so I get frustrated that what I think is a clear demonstration of the concept doesn't land for her. She gets frustrated too. Our brains obviously work differently and we're struggling to figure this out.
Any ideas on other methods?
A seemingly defenseless Carter Hart is exposed as Canes exploit all open holes...Maybe the Canes were the real Carter Harts all along?
DC show with kids
Posted a week or so ago about bringing kids. Just got home from the show. Amazing time. Folks were awesome - got the kids up to the rail to see Bucket in all his glory. Great community and yeah, Bucket destroyed.
Planning to see bucket for 1st time. Ok to bring kids?
All ages venue. Kids (10F/15F) both want to come. This is fine, right? Earplugs will be required for them. Seems like he'd draw a friendly crowd
Boat storage
I've been keeping my 19' CC down near solomons. It's just too far for me. Looking for a place near Annapolis that I can keep it trailered and will allow me to keep it plugged in continuously to maintain charge in trolling motor batteries. Covered storage and a wash station would be amazing but they're nice-to-haves. Any ideas? The 24/7 access to electric has been the limiting factor so far.
Bank Account Bonus Hunting
It seems like there's a couple grand annually just for signing up for new bank accounts. A lot are based on just getting a single direct deposit in a certain time frame. Are people doing this?
Are there any real risks to doing this? Can it impact your credit score?
Is it a huge hassle?
Just wondering if I can open an account and close it as soon as I get the bonus...there has to be a catch, right?
Turkey season is the best couple of months of the year. Recently joined this sub and have enjoyed seeing the harvests and reading stories.
I have had a bit of an "old man yells at cloud" moment as I've engaged with turkey hunting content, however...I've been turkey hunting for 30 years, use the same 1998 BPS with copper plated lead shot, have pared my calls down to 2 slate calls - one primary, one back-up. Kind of a minimalist set up, but I kill a few birds every year and it works for me.
How have we gotten to the point that new hunters think they need to buy a $1k gun, spend $20/shell, amass 27 different calls and a dozen decoys to kill a gobbler?
To all new hunters, the most valuable thing you can do is spend time in the woods. Costs $0 and you'll learn through trial and error. The most expensive set up will NOT overcome the experience piece. You're not killing more birds because you spent more. Let's stop falling for the marketing and enjoy the process of building woodsmanship/hunting skills.
Rant over. Good luck out there everyone.
I had 125% of my annual household operating budget in cash. Put 20% into the market, 90% of the remaining cash into 3.6% money market account, and the remaining into a 3.1% high interest savings for a short term emergency fund.
My job is stable-ish but I like the comfort of knowing I can float for a year if needed. The question is: what % of my overall liquid cash should I put into the market to maintain a sufficient buffer? I'd be looking at mainly index funds like VOO. Retirement accounts are in good enough shape.
