The upcoming Timemore Chestnut C6 coffee grinder will be likely launched on October 15th, 2026 in China, based on a post on Rednote, a chinese social network.

Some preview pics and videos were already posted on an insta profile here - many thanks to the author!

Three posts were published, so far: the first (a photo gallery), the second (a click mechanism video), and the third (burr size comparison with a C5 burr). Access without login possible.

There are two new insta posts / videos, about the upcoming Chestnut C6 coffee grinder: the burr size comparison C5 to C6, and a C6 click mechanism preview.

The C5 burr has 42 mm outside diameter (internal conical 32 mm), the C6 is 44 mm (internal cone 36? mm), and the S5 is 48 mm (internal cone 39 mm).

Video shows the difference between diameters of C5 and C6 internal conical burrs.

The seller of "DF64" grinders and related models, located in the EU (Belgium), is offering a 5% discount, for Oct 1st only - on the International Coffee Day.

They sell grinders under the "ProBarista G-iota" brand, so for example, the DF64V (model with a variable RPM and premium build) is listed as "G-iota VS", with a "DF64V" model nr. mentioned in the description.

Compared to the base Chestnut S5, already available in Asia, the S5 Pro only difference is that it has a collapsible, straight handle.

International product launch of the Chestnut S5 Pro coffee grinder is scheduled to September 18th, 2026. In Asia, the Chestnut S5 (without "Pro", with a standard, non-collapsible handle) is already available for purchase.

Slow-feeding is intentionally built-in.
Less torque required, for a 48 mm burr.
S5 has a tighter particle size distribution - so likely, more clarity.
Improved external adjustment ring tactile feeling. It has a firmer resistance, than the S3.
S5 is a home grinder, rather than a travel one, mainly due to its weight, but also its size.

Included in the post is the S3 and S5 taste profile comparison in the cup - a bit ambiguos, tho.
Side-by-side burr comparison pic seems not perfectly accurate in the blog post: The S5 burr (48 mm) is indeed bigger than the S3 burr (42 mm), but slightly less, than visually suggested on that pic. The pic in this post is adjusted for that.

S5 taste profile, as descibed:
Acidity is more defined and sits in better balance with the sweetness; there's more body, and both the layering and the definition move up a step. Espresso is noticeably easier to work with than it was on the S3.

The last sentence suggests, that it might be likely, that there will be no "S5 ESP" introduced.
From the FAQ at the end:

Is the Timemore S5 Pro good for espresso?
Yes — noticeably more workable than the S3. The finest setting leaves a 75-micron burr gap, and the tighter particle distribution from the Tri-Break burr makes shots easier to dial in and more repeatable.

Also included in that blog post is an S5 pic with a home espresso machine.

However, not sure, if this rules out the potential need to use pressurized baskets. Time will tell.

The new coffee grinder from April is made in collaboration with Timemore.

Has a new 48 mm octagonal (8-star) burrs, different from the 42 mm octagonal S2C-042-EI burrs, used in the S3 ESP and the Whirly 01S. Also a straight handle, and a screw-on catch cup.

Also has an innovative design part (edit: maybe not that innovative, as it was already seen in Kinu grinders, as people pointed out), which looks like a thumb support .

The burr is significantly different from the one in upcoming Timemore Chestnut S5 grinder.

Kickstarter launch probably this Tuesday, September 1st, 2026.

Update: Originally posted it as the C3S model, as this pic was found on the AE marketplace in a C3S product page, possibly by mistake.

Why can't we have the S3 or S5 models in the same color?

My guess is, that Timemore sells their grinders in batches way too large for their resellers, forcing them to buy 72, 84 or even 96 pieces of every color version they want, so they mostly just order black, and resell that stock. They know, that people often prefer black coffee equipment, and even if they do not, then most of them would still accept it.

But, the gold / champagne is a much more convenient color than the usual black, when looking inside the catch cup, either to check the coffee grind coarseness, or when cleaning it. Owning another grinder of the same color, can say that I appreciate it very much. Chestnut grinders with a white coating have catch cups that are silver inside, which also feels much better, than the darkness of the "standard" coating.

Timemore S5 finally revealed in China. The pictures are translated from Chinese product photos using ChatGPT.

The new S5 has a 48 mm burrs (outer burr diameter), while the current S3 has 42 mm burrs, and apparently, there might be even bigger difference in the inner conical burr diameter: the S3 has a 31 mm inner burr, while the S5 could be 40 mm or more, based on the photo.

All pics seem to be Black & White, as the Timemore logo on the grinder body appears silver, while in reality, its gold in color on the S3.
