It feels like (what with Clair Obscur and the like) video game music is really have a wider moment in the mainstream at the moment.
This piece says it's fuelled by vinyl and bigger and better concert tours and that we can expect the hype to build even more in the next few months and years – but some of the composers interviewed (eg. Sword Of The Sea's Austin Wintory) think AI is gonna play a larger part too...
I really liked how it says indie games are where the exciting vgm is happening and will continue to dominate.
What do you guys reckon?
