Menstruation

I must know how she’s handling her period. Are period products allowed outside the ten items? HOW does this work?!

Non-Orthodox Jewish Day Camps - Philly Ramah Day Camp Closing

Just saw the article that Philly's Ramah Day Camp is closing.

We are a very happy Ramah Day Camp family, and I find this incredibly sad. My kids love morning tefilah, they have fallen in love with Israeli music, and my daughter is even in a Hebrew immersion group where her counselors only speak to her in Hebrew.

I will also say Ramah Day Camp is double the cost of other camps. While it does have a pool and provide swim lessons, that shouldn't be the reason why its literally DOUBLE Moshava Ba'Ir.

Young Judea and URJ have awesome sleepaway camps, but no day camps. So a few questions:

  1. I have heard Ramah Day Camp Philly was not converting campers to Ramah sleepaway. Why is that?
  2. Why are the movements so much less invested in Jewish day camp when compared with sleepaway?
  3. How can we lower the cost so more families consider Ramah day camp?
  4. Is there an opportunity to partner with YJ and URJ so Jewish day camp feeds into sleepaway (and honestly, do we really care if kids are at YJ, URJ, or Ramah? it's Jewish!)?

Amanda is a CHILD - she is so disrespectful of Kyle having a job

Not defending Kyle going out partying all night, but if my partner gave me no heads up on timing and just needed me to be fully emotionally available in the middle of my workday, I would be livid. It's so disrespectful! I've seen several times where she interrupts his work calls.

He made the comment about the 5 million dollar investment, and she fake clapped.

She is so deeply combative and clearly does not want it to work.

I am so horrified by Dayton's Mom

Let your child have their reaction first! Mirror their reaction. Be a fucking parent. It's not about you.

Dayton please move on. Please find joy in your life and move far away from your mother.
