The Extra Yard envy
The more into the basement yard I get, the more envious I feel when I see clips of the patreon episodes. The FOMO is killing me.
I eagerly wait for the day I can afford to support them. Thank you that is all.
[Portfolio] Looking for portfolio advice/guidance
Hello ! First time poster here.
I’ll just get straight to the point, I’ve been drawing my whole life, and in a VERY ideal world, I’d be able to illustrate book covers for authors, or art-forward posters for fun events. Of course, ideals are far from reality, and to boot, I’ve never received formal art education.
Things like portfolio presentation or cover letters or even reaching out to try and network are hard for me.
Yes the internet exists, but it’s an overwhelming amount of info, y’know ?
I’m looking for some pointers and tips on what to add to my portfolio that would at least make me look more ‘professional’ and desirable as an artist to a client.
Portfolio in question: www.artstation.com/erib00p
Critique, pointers, and advice are welcome !! Even if it’s to remove a particular piece or etc. Just be gentle on me, I’m an amateur in the grand scheme of things. :))
My cat needs to see a vet but costs are just unrealistic
This is more of a vent. My baby has had issues with over grooming and itching for years, and I’ve brought him to the vet multiple times, spent hundreds for surface level testing, otc cat medicine, but they’ve all resulted in nothing. Vets keep telling me ‘maybe it’s allergies’ ‘change the kibble’ ‘change cleaning products’ etc, and we have ! But the itching just won’t let up and I still paid hundreds.
Lately his itching and grooming has skyrocketed, I don’t know what’s changed. He is covered in scabs and bald spots, and I’m worried but also recently laid off and have no means AT ALL of paying any kind of vet bills, let alone animal transportation which is also costly, cause public transport here doesn’t allow pets. I’m so stressed. We don’t have any local systems that make vet care accessible either. What should I do ? :(
I need comfort :( my anxiety has been spiking these last few nights and my mind goes to the worst scenarios. With the hantavirus happening, and seeing people posting about their ALS on tiktok, I feel even more worried. This paired with emetophobia makes me feel ill with anxiety. The worst symptom is the dysphagia when eating in the evening/night. My brain goes immediately to ALS (I’m 25) and that I’m dying soon. Any reassurance and a voice of reason would be nice ;-;
Been fighting a broad mite infestation for months, I chopped all my peppers bald and sprayed them all (and every plant surrounding them) down multiple times with a rotation for a month, but they only ever paused and came back again. I’m wondering if I should just toss them all,, but I can’t afford more seeds and I want to keep trying, until I finally have a successful pepper plant, yk ? I live at the equator so it doesn’t matter when they start but god damn bro
Hello everyone ~
A while ago I gave my grown peppers the chop, and placed them in what I hope is their long term small pot. They’re all doing well and have leaves and are starting to flower !
For context, if it helps with advising me, I have very limited pepper space, there is only one spot on my windowsill where the sun hits. I’m aware the smaller the pot, the smaller the harvest, and I’m okay with that ! I’m happy as long as they are able to produce at all.
Onto my questions !!! What are my options once they get root bound ? It’s summer all year round here so they will always be growing. Small pot aside, their environmental conditions are perfect. What about fertilizing ? Smaller pot = more frequent fertilizing, right ? I’m trying to set up a fertilizing schedule but I’m not sure where to begin. I’d love to know some of your fertilizing schedules !
This is what I have on hand,
Epsom salts, dolomite lime, 20-20-20 fertilizer, phosphate rock powder, and two slow release granules, one being 15-10-22 + Mg (which is what they have in their pots now) and 13-21-21. I also have vermicompost and 5-5-5 composted chicken manure, which is also what they have in their soil.
Thanks !!
