would it kill ‘em to add an undo button?

too many times I’ve made a small seemingly insignificant change that screws up a significant portion of an album, artist, or god knows what else. just the other day I made a change to a soundtrack album that caused every single song to split into its own release. the fix is easy, find the problem and plug them all back into the same release, but it also could be easily fixed if there was a simple undo button. it makes me scared to change certain things because of how unpredictable this application is sometimes.

Everywhere I go online, YouTube, Instagram, Google itself and by extension any service or platform that exists on the internet, has been enshittified by AI algorithms and generated slop. Whether it’s directly by the service itself or by its posters, it’s simply impossible to escape, and that would be one thing, but THIS? This is insulting. AI generated garbage being posted on existing artists pages masquerading themselves as “NEW RELEASES FROM YOUR FAVOURITE ARTIST” only to find out it’s not only nothing like those artists’ music but it doesn’t even try to pretend. At this point it’s already happened with at least 3 artists I listen to, and not even just the small ones, and I’m sure I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I guessed it’s happened to at least 1 artist YOU listen to as well.

I Mother Earth and Joydrop are two Canadian bands primarily from the 90s, both with their own cult followings. Neither have released new music since the 2000s (aside from 3 singles IME released in 2015). I’m not as knowledgeable about Joydrop but I’m a fan of I Mother Earth and to see this being posted on their page is just insulting. This band has been such a huge part of my life, my childhood, and my relationship with my father, and now they’re being used to push more of this AI garbage that nobody wants, it pisses me off to no end. I got EXCITED when I saw this at first, and the fact that they even went as far as adding MULTIPLE artists is even more insulting. I reported this over a week ago when I noticed it and so far Spotify has done NOTHING. It would take someone on their team less than a minute to realize this is a disingenuous impersonation of BOTH bands, and yet it’s still up. What a load of shit.

The image is literally AI generated too, and not even the better kind, it’s SO obvious. I can’t believe this is the standard of quality that’s being accepted on nearly every online platform and service, it’s disappointing and again, INSULTING, that these MULTI BILLION DOLLAR platforms are allowing this to happen either out of pure laziness or complacency. It comes to a point where I can’t understand how they think people are just gonna put up with this for much longer, like they can just keep allowing their platform to get worse and worse year by year while also getting more expensive and they really think people are just gonna deal with it?

I’m leaving this god forsaken platform the second I have the chance, and that makes me sad because I’ve put a lot of time and energy into building my library on Spotify. But I’m just tired of dealing with this trash alongside every other problem with this platform. so disappointing.

I hesitate to tag this as “UI Change” because I’m unsure if it’s just a glitch or something YouTube is “experimenting” with, but I can’t seem to find a way to switch it back. it’s been this way for days and it looks so stupid, I can’t even see half the thumbnail anymore.

I don’t even really like that song so I don’t care that much I just think it’s funny that it’s the only song I can’t listen to despite the fact that it appears available. I tested this with as many songs and albums as I could, it lets me play anything else I want even the rest of this entire album but once it gets to this song it cuts off.

it was playing the first 10 seconds earlier, and for some reason it said it was playing at Lossless even though my settings are only at Very High and every other song also plays at Very High. now it just won’t play it at all though. strange.

personally, it depends but I think in most cases I’d much rather an album be god awful than mid. what gets an album between 40-55 for me is usually the fact that it’s “not bad but boring,” and I think it’s a lot more enjoyable to hear something that’s so bad I can laugh at it than something that just fails to grab my attention at all because of how mediocre it is, even if it is technically better.

today I rated two albums by Sleeping With Sirens, their third album “Feel” at 40 and their fifth album “Gossip” at a measly 2, and I have to say even though “Feel” is the better of the two I think much preferred the experience of cringing and laughing at just how absurdly awful “Gossip” is than the mundane slog that was trying to get through “Feel.” even though “Gossip” was one of the worst albums I’ve ever heard, almost like it was trying to be horrible, I still found it to be way more fun. it piqued my interest because of how bad it was, but I can’t say my interest was at all piqued or even, ironically, touched by “Feel”
