Amtrak's recently released FY2026-2031 five-year plan includes a projection of which rolling stock will be used on which routes. Among other things, it confirms that the high capacity trainsets for the NER remain part of the long-distance single-level order and includes some more details on when the Airos and new single-level trainsets will be introduced.
Additionally, it confirms that Colorado Mountain Rail will be operated by Amtrak using Superliners and that the single-level trainsets will be used on the Auto Train.
