Why does driving at night make certain music hit so much harder?

Lately I’ve been thinking about how much context changes the way we experience music. There are songs I probably wouldn’t think twice about if I heard them during the day, but put them on during a late-night drive with empty roads and they suddenly feel completely different.

A friend of mine recently started releasing a lo-fi project, and I’ve caught myself always throwing it on when I’m driving at night. It made me realize I almost associate certain albums with places or routines more than genres.

Do you have music that’s tied to a specific moment or activity? Night drives, studying, cooking, hiking, flying, whatever it is. I’m curious if anyone else has artists that only seem to “click” in certain situations.

For anyone interested, the project that got me thinking about this is by kvasim. The first track is called “i’m fermenting.”

Once you stopped living paycheck to paycheck, what advice helped you make more while working less?

For those who reached a point where you no longer felt financially stressed and were earning a comfortable income:

What advice do you wish someone had given you earlier about increasing your income while also creating more freedom and time?

I’m not necessarily asking about investing or retirement. I’m more interested in the transition from “I need to work more hours to make more money” to “I need to work smarter and build systems that aren’t completely dependent on my time.”

Looking back, what changed things the most for you?

•	Raising prices?

•	Hiring help?

•	Building assets?

•	Learning to say no?

•	Focusing on one thing instead of many?

•	Something else entirely?

What’s the lesson that took you the longest to learn?

Am I the only one who doesn’t get sea salt on chocolate?

Everyone seems to love sea salt on chocolate chip cookies, brownies, chocolate bars, etc. and people always talk about how it “enhances” the flavor.

For me, it does the opposite. Whenever I bite into a chunk of sea salt, it just tastes salty and distracts from the chocolate. I feel like it kills the flavor rather than improving it.

Is there actually something happening from a food science perspective that most people enjoy, or is this just one of those food trends that some people genuinely don’t like?

Curious if anyone else feels the same way.

Went to Benny Benassi’s Feel The Bass release party at Marquee NYC and honestly the opener caught me off guard. Nové Bloc played this super groovy minimal leaning set that felt really refreshing compared to the usual stuff I hear at bigger NYC clubs lately..

A lot of left field selections..the long blends...unreleased edits...really patient mixing. Felt closer to old school Ibiza / European club energy than the typical festival tech house sound majority are rinsing in events i been to.

Not saying they’re reinventing the wheel or anything but it reminded me why I fell in love with club music in the first place. Curious if anyone else here has come across them yet because I’ve been seeing their name pop up more and more lately.. straight up reminds me of martinez bro's sets but more euro influence.
