I know that depending on the institution, they sometimes contact the people who write recommendation letters. I’m just curious about how that contact usually works. What do they ask for or send them? Does anyone know?

Film & TV Exceptional Talent GTV— Is Production Coordinator enough with strong credits & letters?

I’m applying for the Film & TV Exceptional Talent route and wanted to get some honest opinions on my case. I have 5 pieces of evidence across 5 films:

  • 3 of them are Academy Award-nominated (one is a winner)
  • The others are selected in festivals included in the PACT list

In all of these projects, I worked as a Production Coordinator.

My evidence includes:

  • Award nominations/wins documentation
  • IMDb credits
  • A support letter from my Production Manager
  • A letter from the Director/Producer confirming my significant contribution

My main question is:
Do you think a Production Coordinator role is strong enough for this route if it’s supported by strong letters and high-level projects? And overall, based on this kind of evidence, do you think it’s likely to be considered sufficient, or is the role too junior for this category?

Any insight from people who have applied (or been approved/rejected) would be really helpful.

30F - Is my love life gonna stabilize anytime soon? I want something long lasting but keep having this relationships and being abandoned. About my career path, I moved a year ago to another country to pursue this, will I stay here for that or back to my home country? I'm an artist

We broke up 3 months ago. He was cold and cruel at the end. He abandoned me and was neglectful during the relationship, I wasn't perfect, I have serious abandonment issues and I was living with him for the first time in his country. Only now I’m really starting to understand the impact that had on me.

I’ve actually made a lot of progress rebuilding my life and getting back on my feet emotionally. But the last couple of days everything feels painful again. I feel this kind of paralyzing anger where all I want to do is scream and cry. I haven’t followed him on social media for months — not seeing anything about him has been a form of self-preservation and part of moving on. But he still follows me. He’s even interacted with some of my work (I’m an artist). And he has watched every single one of my stories over the last 3, sometimes within seconds.

Part of me really wants to remove him as a follower so I can stop thinking about it and also make a clear statement that he doesn’t get access to me anymore. But every time I go to do it, I just… can’t. I think maybe it feels too self-centered, like it would send some kind of strong message — like even if you hurt me, this is me cutting you off completely and we’ll never know anything about each other again. And somehow that feels like the last thing I have left of him.

Hi everyone, I’m trying to understand how “contributed to an award nomination or win” is interpreted in the film or artistic category.

If you worked on a film that was nominated or won at major events like the Academy Awards or the Cannes Film Festival, but you weren’t in a top role (like director, producer, or head of department), does that still count as having “contributed”?

Is there an informal expectation in terms of hierarchy or type of credit? For example, do roles like assistants, coordinators, or general crew in large productions count, or is this usually meant for people with higher-level credits and decision-making responsibility?

Thanks
