Missy turned 10 yesterday!

She hates hats, but she was a good sport for the last photo. I adopted her when she was 3 and a half! It's crazy that she's 10 now. Time goes by so fast!

Cone Health Women & Children's Center at Moses Cone Experiences?

I'm due in February and planning to give birth at the women's and children's center. I don't personally know anyone who has had an experience there, so I wanted to see what everyone here thinks.

If you gave birth there, what was your experience like? Did you feel like the staff listened to any concerns you had? Anything I should be prepared for?

Narcissistic parent constantly calls the other parent when I'm with them.

I wonder if anyone else's parent does this?

For context, my parents (63M & 60F) are still married for some reason.

I've noticed that any time I'm hanging out with my mom, my narcissistic father constantly calls her to tell her the most unnecessary things.

For example, at my bridal shower (which was women only) a few years ago, he kept calling to tell her what their dog was doing... as if she could do anything about it.

Yesterday, I got worried that I was having a miscarriage (I'm 11 weeks pregnant) and my husband was out of town on a family trip. I was invited too but chose not to go. Anyway, because my husband was out of town, I called my mom and she came over right away.

My dad called her at least 4 or 5 times while she was with me. The first time was to pretend he cares about how I was doing. I know this sounds like he was being nice, but as y'all know, he wasn't. The second time he called, I was on the phone with an on call nurse, and my mom was trying to listen too, to see if she could help. He calls and tells her that if I need to go to the hospital, he would not only pay (lol) but also meet us there? Okay, buddy yeah, that's the last thing I'd want. Of course, I couldn't stop myself from making a face at that comment, but my mom, ever the enabler, goes "aw, well he's being nice!"

The on call nurse said that based on my symptoms, she didn't think I was miscarrying, and that I could just call my doctor's office on Monday to follow up.

Mom and I decided to hang out for the rest of the day, eating snacks and watching TV at my house. Then he calls her again to tell her he's going to the gym. When she got off the phone she goes "yeah he was just talking about himself again."

Then, as we're deciding what to eat for dinner, he calls again, to tell her that their dog peed on the floor.

Mom is getting ready to go get our food, he calls again, this time to tell her it looks like it's going to rain. I heard her say "yeah, you didn't really need to call and tell me that." lol.

I know what he's doing is "checking up" on her and it drives me insane. Idk if it's a possession thing, or if he wants to try to ruin our time together. I've tried to talk to her about it before but she doesn't get it, and it usually ends up in my mom and I arguing.

He has always been very possessive over her, for as long as I can remember. When I was little, he would ask me "Did any guys hit on Mommy at the store?" way before I knew what flirting or being hit on even meant.

He also is just a miserable person and hates when other people have fun, not that yesterday was "fun" but I needed that time with my mom.

OCD and Pregnancy

How on earth did y'all deal with your OCD during pregnancy?

My obsessions are mainly contamination related, but with it being summertime where I live, that has taken a backseat. Also, I take 100mg of Zoloft.

Anyway, my husband and I have been trying to conceive for a little over a year, and last Tuesday I found out that I'm pregnant! We've been over the moon since.

However, I feel like my OCD won't let me relax. What if I miscarry? What if my baby has some horrible condition? What if I have a stillbirth? I'm spiraling.

I'm only 5 weeks+2 days, so I have a while to go. How did you get through it?
