Google Home has just gotten worse and worse.
Basically I want to set up something that can replace "yelling across the house" between my partner and I.
We're in a two story house. If she's up one end in one floor and I'm on the other, we have to yell. Yes, I know we could just walk up/down the stairs but sometimes it's "hey can you grab XYZ when you come up" and other stuff where physically going over defeats the purpose of that. Lazy, I know, but this is a home automation sub. The whole point is laziness.
The current solution is we have is to just call each other but thats kind of annoying.
Google Home / Alexa doesn't really work since you have to say "Hey XYZ broadcast Y" and then you have to do the same to reply and it's just awkward and easier to yell.
I just want to be able to hit a button, talk into it and it broadcasts to the correct room automatically based on a presence sensor, which activates a temporary two way communication for like 45 seconds or something.
Any ideas?

Recently got my hands back on this bass and it needed a lot of work, so figured why not swap out the crusty chrome hardware and go for a blue and gold look.
Certainly not subtle, but I wanted to do something fun for the old girl.
This was working a few weeks ago but for some reason stopped.
When I have HDR on, Win Alt B turns it OFF and I get a screen refresh and then a "HDR IS ON" game bar notification.
Trying to turn it back on does nothing except give me the notification (HDR turned on) and keeps it turned off.
Has anyone encountered this? It's fucking me off something chronic.
The controller conceptually is excellent but it feels a bit cheap in a lot of aspects. As a platform to build on its really good.
Unfortunately the shell doesn't feel particularly nice. Back buttons are a bit stiff. Wouldn't mind metal triggers and different face buttons.

Looking for a compact power amp for my 2.1 desktop setup. Currently using a Fosi ZA3 but feel I could use something with a little more oomph when I move to Kef LS50 Metas. Also find the Fosi has channel volume mismatch at low volumes, but that's another story.
I like the idea of the SMSL PA200 and similar classed amps, but they all seem to lack a sub out, which seems odd. The WiiM Amp Pro seems like a decent choice that checks the boxes but I'm not a huge fan of the chungus form factor.
I have a separate DAC so I don't need or want a built in DAC. Same with headphones. I don't need or want headphones. I just want a pure power amp with a sub out for 2.1. Aesthetics are also important so the budget looking chifi and lower end options from Topping and SMSL aren't really my first choice.
Budget is probably $500 - 1000 AUD, which in Freedom Franks I think is like 350 - 700?
Let me start by saying this is multiple rugs that have been replaced, so it can't be a scent issue.
We have two ~6 year old mini dachshunds. One is mine, that I trained and is a perfect little angel (yes really). The other is my girlfriend's who is a bit of a nightmare, but we love her anyway.
We continuously struggle with her peeing inside. I've tried everything. Heaps of praise and treats when she goes outside. Nuking the area with enzyme killer when she does pee inside (Nature's Miracle, other brands as well).
She always ends up going back to the rug. It's almost like she does it out of spite.
I honestly don't even mind that much when it's on tiles because it's easy enough to clean. I've stopped spraying those spots enzyme killer at this point because I'd rather clean up a wee on the bathroom tiles than the rug, which eventually just needs replacing.
We got rid of the last rug and had the new one sitting in its plastic for a few weeks. Not a single wee in the loungeroom where the rug goes. She's been excellent. The new rug goes down and I leave for a few hours for the first time in a few days.
BAM. Piss on the rug.
I'm at my wit's end.
What do I do with this dog? All the advice seems to be related to removing the scent, which isn't applicable, or rewarding when she does go outside. I can't really section off the area since our place is very open plan. The only other option I have is putting her in a play pen or crate when we're out.
I'm beginning to think negative reinforcement might be called for here because everything else hasn't worked, but I don't really want our dog to be afraid of us or anything like that.
