Temp Tower Seems The Same

Which temperature is supposed to be best here? Is this just magic filament and it all looks pretty decent? And yes I did confirm that the temperature was actually changing. Edit: Fillament is PLA

Main board driver failure

I have an original cr-10 v1 and after a failed print last night, I suspect that I have a y-axis driver failure.

After cleaning up the meth from the failed print, I started it again but there was a very loud noise coming out of the y-axis stepper and little to no movement out of the printing bed. To rule out the motor or mechanical system I connected the y-axis stepper to the x-axis cable and it had no issues moving the bed.

To eliminate the possibility of a wire failure, I unplugged the x-axis wire on the main board and connected it to the y-axis output. This got me the same result. The y-axis motor had little to no movement in a very loud noise coming from it.

Is mainboard failure common with these printers? I guess it is pretty old at this point.
