Aging Pit Mix

Hi all! I have a 57 pound lean pit mix. She is 6 years old and seems to be aging more rapidly than similar dogs in our lives. She currently eats Kirkland beef and sweet potato dry food and Purina One beef and vegetable wet food. She used to eat homemade food, and I felt that she was healthier on that plus kibble than she is now, though she was obviously younger at that time. I’m interested in switching her to a mix of high quality dry food paired with a commercial, balanced wet/fresh/frozen food. She is possibly allergic to chicken, so she doesn’t eat it, but our vet informed us that her persistent itching could be due to cross-contamination in manufacturing of her current diet.

For now, I have purchased one 5 lb. bag of Steve’s beef recipe frozen food to hold her over until I’ve found an ideal regimen. We are not wealthy, or even financially comfortable right now, but our animals come first. The absolute maximum we could spend per month would be $100. Thank you for reading.

Is my technique bad if my glutes are more sore than my other muscles?

Basically exactly what the title says. I was pretty consistently a v2 climber before the last few months off due to my autoimmune disease. I remember having a lot of glute growth when I first started, so I’m wondering if maybe I could be relying on my lower body too much, preventing me from getting better.

38 pound fuzzy guy

I got this guy from BARCS in Baltimore the other day. Varied energy. Can be really crazy or really calm. Chases cats whenever he gets the chance, hates being closed in a crate or a room by himself. Very sweet and cuddly. Google keeps saying jack russell but I think if that’s the case, it’s only a small bit. Any thoughts?

Low TSH and low t4 after starting levo

I started levothyroxine 7 weeks ago. I just got my bloodwork results from my 6 week followup. My t4 is slightly less low than it was initially, but my TSH is in the gutter. Has anyone experienced this?

I also have a pineal cyst that hasn’t been checked since 2024, so my concern is that it may now be pressing on my pituitary gland. My mom had hashimoto’s but no longer has a thyroid due to cancer and doesn’t remember having both low at the same time.

Swim Shorts

Does anyone have swim shorts with compression that they love? I do a lot of things in water, particularly kayaking and paddle boarding, where I’d love to have some compression for when I’m not in the water. I have a compression swim suit for my belly, but my legs end up really swollen throughout the day. Thanks in advance!

Kayaking from Rocky Point to Hart-Miller Island

What would you rank this kayaking trip in terms of difficulty? Especially on a Saturday morning? Have you done this trip or does it seem crazy to you? How long would you expect it to take?

I’ve seen posts about people injecting GLP-1s into their lipedema fat, but I’m wondering if anyone with chronic migraine has injected their CGRP meds into it. I did last week and have been having more migraine attacks this week. I noticed a crazy bruise at the injection site and thought perhaps the medication didn’t perfuse properly. My GLP-1 didn’t bruise so I’m wondering if the emgality autoinjector is particularly unkind to lipedema.
