What is Knebworth’s vibe?

Going to view a house there soon as an out of towner. Seems like a nice enough village but keen to know:

- does it feel like an extension of Stevenage?
- is the commuter link as good as it seems?
- whats the vibe about the village expansion?
- does it have its own community feeling?

Thanks in advance!

TikTok song in my head and can’t get out! Help!

It’s an energetic tempo with people dancing to it in like rhythmic karate moves I think.

High pitched female singer, sounds like it’s been pitched up and sped up maybe?

The chorus lyrics sound like “oh no no” scaling down, then a bar of words that might end in “together”. Then “oh no no” again and another bar. Next line is slower articulation, sounds like it ends in the word talk, possibly body talk?

Can’t think of the genre, it could be K-pop. Feels quite cutesy and artificial.

It’s been driving me mad for a week! Help!

Modern orangery? Pop

Hello!

We are in the process of purchasing a house and our options have these lovely kitchen/diner extensions. They’re practical but not really our style (more Victorian and traditional).

How would we go about making this read more like an orangery? So far I’m thinking:

Least invasive:
- sage green paint
- different light fixtures
- an indoor tree
- door panelling
- moulding around the skylights.

What are our more invasive options? Can we get a roofer out to connect the sky lights and add pitched glass? Can we add wooden French doors? Extend further?

Would love to hear about anyone else who has tried to de-modern a kitchen extension! Chat has given me options but none feel quite right

Hair lost its magic since childbirth + living in UK

Hello!

I’d love some help to get my hair back to what it used to be. In 2021 I moved to the UK and noticed my hair became much less curly over time. Since having kids in 2024 and 2 months ago, it’s almost completely straight, stringy, flat and unhealthy feeling. I suspect it’s a mix of hormones and heavy water but would love some help!!

I wash about once a week - ten days. I use the Boucleme hydrating shampoo, followed by the Devacurl Curl Bond conditioner (omg could it be the Devacurl??).

I sometimes put the Boucleme curl cream in but mostly can’t be bothered anymore. I also don’t use gel anymore (could that also be a problem)? Since having kids I don’t have as much time for my hair.

I recently did a rice water mask which in the past would bring my curls back to life but seems to have done nothing, if not made it worse.

I air dry after plopping in a tee.

Stevenage v Welwyn Garden City

My family and I are moving to Hertfordshire and had really only been looking at Welwyn Garden City. It seems a nice size, we can cycle to the station, it’s close enough to London for easy commuting, and it seems to have some nice areas with lots of green space.

That being said, we’ve found our ideal house… in Stevenage. It’s in the old town, near the high street so not very close to nature, but it is close to the station.

My question is, what is the old town in Stevenage like? Would it be so different to WGC? Would we immediately regret it, despite liking the house?

Thanks for any local insight!

▲ 15 r/DIYUK

Just checked under my kitchen cabinets and was horrified with this amount of mould.

I’ve been quoted about £1000 for removal (fogging) and want to know if it’s worth it or if there are good methods or DIY removal out there (I’m from a sunny country and recently moved to the UK so I’m unfamiliar with what to do in tjis situation!)
