Can you fish the Mackenzie from fort providence from shore right now?
Traveling to Yellowknife for some fishing in two weeks. Debating staying the night in Fort providence, would we be able to shore fish the river right now? I’ve been told the river is too fast for shore fishing this summer.
EBay “bug” caused refund to go through before customer returned item
I’m an on again off again seller for years now. Nothing big time, just a small time hobby flipper or at times I’ll sell my collectables (sports cards).
I recently bought new iPhone and decided to sell my 15 pro max on eBay since the sales history are far higher then what my local phone store was offering me, and I’m from a tiny town so selling on marketplace would take time.
I list the phone and it sold for $840 Canadian, which I thought was oddly high. I sold it to an American address, after I sold it the customer told me he is unable to select a shipping option that he must have an issue with his adddress and asked me to cancel and relist with buy it now. Now ive only sold 150 items or so in my entire history and never once been scammed, so I didn’t think much of this request, I thought maybe I had did something wrong setting up the international shipping . So I canceled and relisted and it was bought and paid for. I then shipped it out with no issue.
A couple days after shipping, I went to message the buyer and it brought me to a blank message history. This is when I noticed a different account paid for the phone. This was my first red flag that I noticed something was not right.
Customer received the phone and after a couple days they opened a return, said phone is overheating when charging.
At this point I knew something was not right cause the phone was 100% when I sent it out. I accept the return with no issue, lucky I have a business account with FedEx so I am able to issue a return label at no cost to me unless it’s used.
A week goes by and label has not been used.
Today comes along, at 12:34 the buyer asks eBay for help with the return.
At 12:35 eBay sides with the buyer and emails me saying the item has been delivered we are refunding the customer. Money is taken from my bank account and case is closed.
I then open eBay chat support ask for call back and wait. Agent calls me back, I explain what happened, how I have folllowed every rule, I provided the return label, and the buyer has not returned anything, but eBay has sided with the buyer and refunded their money. They put me on hold to look into the issue.
After a few minutes they get back to me, tell me sorry there was a bug in the system and they should not have sided with the buyer. That they can see the return label has not been scanned, and that they will escalate my case and I should except an email in 24-48 hours that will say I am getting a 100% refund for the money they just took back from me.
The whole experience was very fustrating. How does eBay side with the buyer in less then one minute when I had the tracking for the return label uploaded within hours of the case opening. Why does it feel like I am being punished even though I followed all the rules. I feel cheated that this buyer is now keeping the phone plus their money. The experience soured my selling experience on eBay
That is all I just needed to vent to maybe someone that would understand my pain lol. Block those two buyers and move on. Hopefully eBay comes through and does me good.

Looking for a fishing charters, great slave lake, 2 days in August
Hey, wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. Looking to hire a fishing charter for 2-3 people in August on great slave lake. Preferably around Hay River but Yellowknife also works.
We are from Alberta and just looking to catch some big fish for two days, but I can only seem to find longer stay lodges. Is there anyone that does single day bookings? I know it’s pretty late, but thought we try. Dates in August are pretty flexible
Traveling to San Diego in September, looking for some recommendations
Little more info, wife wanted me to take her on small trip once kids back in school after summer, I chose San Diego (we’re Canadian). Neither of us have been, was looking into things to do and came across the Adams Avenue Street Fair, MLB game, and charter a boat for fishing (wife would have a spa day this day). We are mid 30s.
Looking for any suggestions on things not to miss for first timers in the city.
Or even some spa recommendations for the wife.
Is it alright for tourists to go to the Adams Avenue Street Fair, or is that something for mainly locals?
Anything’s we should stay away from?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Two hours at Figure Eight from shore, still healthy after winter pre stock
Traveling to Calgary for meeting, and I like to stop and fish prairie creek along the way, wondering if it’s still froze over or not. I’m northern Alberta, everything still frozen up here
