The political role of antinatalist thought

Antinatalist Thought and Political Action in Developing Countries

I am interested in antinatalist thought and its role in political action, especially in developing countries that face serious problems related to population growth and limited resources. I am from Iraq, I am 22 years old, and I study law. I see many of these problems directly in my society.

In Iraq, we face serious challenges with water, electricity, food, public services, unemployment, poverty, overcrowding, and weak infrastructure. As the population grows and consumption increases, these problems can become more difficult, especially when economic development and public services do not grow at the same pace.

For this reason, I believe that population issues need serious political discussion, particularly in developing countries. I do not support forcing people not to have children or creating laws that prevent people from having families. Instead, I want to promote the idea of smaller families and responsible parenthood, while making education, family planning, and awareness more accessible to everyone.

I also believe that there is a possibility of creating a global association focused on these issues, with particular attention to countries suffering from resource shortages. Such an organization could bring together activists, students, researchers, doctors, economists, and lawyers to study the relationship between population, resources, the environment, health, and the economy.

My main focus is on developing countries because the effects of these problems can be especially visible there. When a large population is combined with limited resources and weak public services, problems such as water shortages, inadequate healthcare, unemployment, poverty, pollution, rising living costs, and pressure on schools and hospitals can become more serious.

I believe that the solution must be long-term. We need to focus on education, women's empowerment, family planning, better healthcare, and encouraging people to think carefully about family size before having many children. At the same time, we must address excessive consumption, waste, and the overuse of natural resources.

My goal is not to attack people who want to have families. Rather, I want to open a serious discussion about the future of our societies. I believe that future generations have the right to clean water, food, a healthy environment, good public services, and a decent standard of living. They should not inherit crises caused by a lack of planning for population growth and resource management.

As a law student in Iraq, I believe that law and politics can play an important role in this field by protecting individual rights, supporting environmental and population policies, improving access to family-planning services, and encouraging governments to develop long-term plans for managing resources.

For this reason, I hope that my interest can eventually develop into a global political and civil initiative, beginning with countries that suffer most from resource shortages. Its goal would be to seek a better balance between population size and the Earth's ability to provide for its people, while respecting individual freedom, human dignity, and voluntary choice.

(Please send me any suggestions you have so I can review them. Thank you very much.)

I have questions regarding learning Hebrew.

I am an Arab and I have just started learning Hebrew. I have a talent for learning languages; I know some German, Russian, and English in addition to my native language. My question is about learning Hebrew. For me, it is a very wonderful language and very close to our language. However, I'm having difficulty with writing and the letters, which are very similar. I would like your advice, and how long it took you to learn the language completely. I'd also like learning resources. Thank you very much.

I want to convert to Judaism

Hello,

My name is Mohamed . I am a Muslim who was born in Iraq into a Shia Muslim family. For years, I have been interested in studying religions and their history, and I have particularly studied and researched Judaism. However, during the past period, something changed for me. Judaism is no longer simply an academic or intellectual interest; I have developed a deep spiritual attraction toward it, and I sincerely and seriously wish to convert and live as a righteous Jew.

At times, I feel that this path is somehow very close to me. I have even had recurring dreams in which I see myself as a Jew. In one of these dreams, I saw myself standing before Moses and leaving Egypt with him. I understand that dreams are not religious proof, and I do not want to base my decision on them, but they have made my feelings toward this path even stronger.

My main difficulty is that I currently live in Iraq, in an environment where openly declaring that I have left Islam or that I wish to become Jewish could potentially be dangerous for me. For this reason, I cannot openly live according to these feelings or communicate with a Jewish community without concern. My personal safety and the safety of my family are also important concerns.

Nevertheless, I am very serious about this. I am not looking simply to change my name, obtain a document, or become a member of a community. I genuinely want to understand Judaism deeply. I want to study the Torah, Hebrew, Jewish traditions, prayer, and Jewish law, and I want to understand what is truly required for conversion to Judaism, particularly through the Orthodox process, if that is the appropriate path for me.

I would be very grateful for your guidance in a safe and confidential manner, as much as possible. What can I do while I am still in Iraq? How should I begin studying Judaism properly? And is there a trustworthy rabbi or Beit Din whom I could contact to help me understand the appropriate path, without putting myself at risk?

I am prepared to study and be patient for as long as necessary. I do not expect conversion to be quick or easy. I simply want to seek the truth and follow the path that I sincerely believe in.

Thank you very much for your time and understanding.

May you be blessed.

(Note: I'm weak in expression; I used intelligence.)
